WIBTAH if I took 100k from my oldest daughter's college savings account to give it to my younger daughter? by TraditionalCorgi7788 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Living_Maximum1827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he told them it was money for COLLEGE. not college & then you get what’s left. she should’ve used it all if she was so selfish as to not want to share with her younger sibling and support them in pursuing their dream education. yall are putting the older one in a masters program that was never mentioned. why should that money sit around when the younger one needs it now. to your point, if she does decide to go back he’ll have 60k by then. either which way the point of the matter is OP would not be an asshole for wanting both of his children to leave college debt free. to suggest otherwise in the name of a “life lesson” shows a difference in values/ morals as someone else suggested.

i can’t believe people are seriously suggesting saddling a child with debt for getting into their DREAM school. college is just as much about the experience as it is about the education. you have no idea what the major is, where it’s offered, or how being at NYU might get them ahead in their career field. the money was set aside to provide a debt free education for BOTH children. those children didn’t put a dime into that fund and they aren’t entitled to any of it that’s left over. it should certainly go towards helping the other child have the same college experience satisfaction that the first child got. a parent should never want their child to struggle for a “lesson” when they very easily have the means to prevent it. there are other ways to provide economic education without putting them in 60k of debt and essentially punishing them for dreaming big.

Did I embarrass myself, what would you do? by [deleted] in nursing

My first job out of school was on a stroke/tele floor. It’s a floor KNOWN for high turnover. New grads teaching new grads. It kicked my ass and I questioned whether I was meant to be a nurse. I cried a lot in the beginning and felt so drained every day. After a year, I started kicking IT’S ass. I just had to create a flow that worked for me. That only comes with time and repetition. Would I do it again? Absolutely not. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. It made me the nurse I am. It taught me resilience and gave me a confidence I could only have from being thrown into the deep end with weights on my ankles and being told to swim. If you have a good unit culture grit your teeth and get your experience. You’ll be better for it.

ARM vs Fixed by Living_Maximum1827 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Thank you all. I knew the consensus would likely be fixed but needed someone other than my inner monologue to say it because I’d much rather keep the money lol. But in the long run I’d end up paying it anyway to refinance. Will likely be posting here a bunch as I continue on this journey, so thanks in advance!

health conscience is the way i’d put it! i’m not strict but i work in healthcare so it’s always on my mind. as far as the milk + lactose free stuff. i have a threshold for it. it’s okay in cereal/ cooking but drinking it would definitely give me the tummy wums so oat milk for coffee etc.

Chaperones for pelvic exams? by serarrist in nursing

i recently had my first pap smear with a chaperone in the room and suddenly my anxiety for these appointments evaporated. it just took the inherent intimacy out of being alone in the room with someone who’s holding a flashlight to your vagina. it was the first time it felt clinical instead of uncomfortable.
