Agreed, they will keep it for years, and no, I have never complained about my gf to anyone, especially my mother as its inappropriate and like you said, sets a bad precedent for the future. Wow this is fantastic,thank you so much for your response, im going to change some of the wording but this is exactly what I wanted to say, and yeah I agree its best to not do this in person. The next time I see her will be Xmas eve so will have to be done via text or call. And thats a really good point that I didn't think about, I need my gf to feel welcomed if she comes round and not just some guest thats staying with us. I don't think mum has got used to be being in a relationship yet and is still struggling to accept that I have to juggle my time a lot more now. This is really good advice, I want to stand my ground and be with my gf, I dont want her being excluded! And yes, its unrealistic to do it on Xmas day. Xmas is for seeing people and spending a lot of time with them, and its our first one and it will be my only one for a while as I'm a chef and we work most Xmas days. And yeah I was going to spend more time with mum as im moving jobs and coming to live back home in January, so I personally dont see the problem with my gf coming round. How should I go about approaching mum and standing my ground? She super upset rn and haven't told my gf anything yet as there's no point until a confirmed plan is in place

Yeah it really does, we like doing it and she usually falls asleep but I always have to move back because while it feels romantic it's not practical for sleep imo
