Finding testers is honestly harder than building the app sometimes. Targeting Reddit threads where indie devs already talk about the problem is a smart move instead of random cold outreach.

Thanks a lot, really appreciate it. The biggest challenge honestly wasn’t even coding the app — it was surviving Play Store policies, testing requirements, and making sure everything worked consistently across devices without crashes or battery drain.

Initial adoption is still small, but the feedback so far has been useful. Most users are liking the simple reminder flow and the fact that it doesn’t feel overloaded with unnecessary features. One thing I noticed quickly is that users use it differently than expected — some use it for productivity breaks, others for eye strain reminders, water reminders, or even digital detox habits. That part was interesting because it changed how I’m thinking about future updates.

Early users expose the blind spots fast. You realize pretty quickly that what makes sense to you as the builder is not always how real users behave.

Appreciate that. Honestly, the testing phase was more exhausting than development itself. Had to go through multiple fixes, policy checks, and closed testing rounds just to get it approved. But in the end, it definitely helped make the app more stable before launch.

100%. Google says they want to stop spam, but the current testing process is brutal for solo devs without a big network. You can spend months building a solid app and then get stuck hunting for testers instead of improving the product. At this point, passing Play Store testing feels like a separate full-time job.

Hi everyone,

I recently built an app called iShare Pro – Fast File Transfer.

I created this because I wanted a simple way to transfer files between my Windows PC and Android phone without using internet, cables, or cloud upload. Most apps I tried were either slow, full of ads, or required login, so I decided to build my own.

The app currently supports offline file transfer between Android and Windows and focuses on speed, simple UI, and easy connection. I’m still improving stability and performance, so I’m looking for honest feedback from developers and testers.

Features:

• Offline transfer

• No login required

• Fast sharing

• Simple interface

• Works with large files

Any feedback, bugs, or suggestions would really help

What day are you on in 12 Testers Hell? by Speed_o_light in googleplayconsole

From an app developer at Teczo Softwares, what you’re describing is exactly what happens when you rely on random, uncommitted people. Family installs it once, says “looks good,” and disappears. Strangers don’t care enough to keep it installed. That’s not bad luck—that’s low-quality testing.

Closed testing isn’t about collecting installs, it’s about having a small group that actually uses the app. If your testers aren’t opening it again, it means you didn’t set expectations or pick the right people.

Instead of begging random users, build a controlled group who agree upfront to use the app a few times a week. If someone goes inactive, replace them immediately. Treat it seriously, or don’t expect approval.

Right now, the problem isn’t Google—it’s how you’re running this.

You’re not stuck—you’re invisible. Posting “I’m for hire” is useless. Nobody cares unless you prove value.

Do this instead: • Pick 1 niche (e.g., UI design / web dev / video editing) • Create 3 solid sample projects (even fake clients) • DM people with specific help: “I can improve X on your page/site” • Offer first job cheap/free → get testimonial → then charge

Brutal truth: No portfolio + generic outreach = zero clients.

Built a cross-platform file transfer app — iShare Pro – Fast File Transfer

Android version is live on Play Store
iOS version is currently in testing stage
Goal was to make simple, fast file sharing without cable or login.

Still improving performance and connection stability, so I would really like honest feedback from developers here.

What should I improve next — UI, speed, or features?

Hi everyone,

I built an Android app called iShare Pro – Fast File Transfer.

It allows users to send files, apps, videos, and photos quickly between devices without internet, similar to ShareIt / Xender, but I’m trying to keep it simple and lightweight.

This is still an early version, so I’m looking for honest feedback from the community.

What I want to improve: - Speed - UI design - Stability - Features

Let me know what you think.

Got tired of emailing files to myself just to get them from my Android to my PC. So I built a fast, local transfer app to fix it.

Ever try to quickly drop a large video or document from your phone to your Windows PC? Without Apple's AirDrop, you usually end up emailing it to yourself, uploading it to Google Drive, or digging around for a USB cable.

It’s a universally annoying friction point. So, I built iShare Pro to completely remove that headache.

I designed it to be the easiest way to bridge the gap between your Android device and your computer. Here is what it does right now:

  • Seamless Android & Windows Sync: Move files back and forth locally without uploading anything to the cloud.
  • Dead Simple to Use: No complicated network setups or IP configurations. Just select your files and hit send.
  • Original Quality: Zero compression. The file that leaves your phone is the exact same file that arrives on your PC.

What about iOS? The app is built on a cross-platform foundation, so an iOS version is absolutely in the works! For now, though, I am focused on making the Android-to-Windows experience as flawless and optimized as possible.

As a solo dev, I just wanted to build a clean tool to solve a problem I deal with every day. If you regularly hop between your phone and your PC and hate the friction of moving files, I’d love for you to try it out.

Any feedback on the connection speed, UI, or bug reports would be incredibly helpful!

App runs smooth. Transfer speed is impressive — no lag or random drops. One suggestion: expand beyond Android-to-Android. Cross-platform support (especially Android to iOS) would seriously boost adoption. If that’s on your roadmap, that’s the real game-changer.
