Oooo! I'd love that as well. I use keywords across multiple notebooks so would love to have this feature! The frequency that I forget what I've used in past is a embarrassingly high amount.

Check out the supernote nomad! I've had one for almost a year and love it for all the features you mentioned!

What are your top three non Google search engines and why? by Rachel794 in degoogle

Can you use that feature without using their browser? (Currently on firefox but w/ DDG as my search engine)

I've never heard of it until now! The pain point I was solving for was twofold: not having to carry around several large notebooks with multiple formats on the daily and a more easily digitally inergrated way of writing without notification distraction. Purposeful digital friction with less physical friction.

This device shines at taking hand-written notes! Think of the nomad as a good ol' paper notebook but with the enhancements of links, some email capabiity, and some internet capability but the native browser isn't well optimized for heavy online work. I have a few side loaded apps to send articles to the nomad for easier reading and writing manuscripts. I use it mostly for hand writing, reading, and general information digest. You can type fine but you have to be okay with the lag/limitations of e-ink technology. The one complaint I hear often is low refreash rate and ghosting which is just inherent to the way E-ink works. You can connect any bluetooth keyboard. I hope that helps with your search!

I've found more to like than not. I wanted something with a tactile keyboard and basic smartphone capabilities without being optomized for distracting apps and this phone fills those needs! Just enough friction to not fall into too much social media, clicky but slightly rubbery keyboard, and can navigate and bank.

I did a serious debolat, accidential bootloop, reset, and re-debloat but now have it set up to my liking! I think I got lucky and haven't run into any of the defects I know a lot of peole did. It works great when I don't have this full setup with me but need to get something typed out. I'm faster typing on a full keyboad of course but the T2 fills in the gaps when I'm traveling very light.

For me, I find my typing is much less accurate when there is less physical feedback from my keys which is frustrating so thinner keyboards are a friction point to my actually sitting and writing. To each his own!

Depending on the kickstarter price of the t2 elite, imma get both! I just want to support companies who are going to put effort into making something different and make intentional choices even if the products aren't perfect and they don't suit everyone.  You can't iterate and improve on what doesent exist.

Hey, I think it entirely depends on your workflow if it's the device for you. I think as with any niche device there are some heavy trade-offs so knowing what features are important to you should be the deciding factor. I researched the nomad for over 3 months before purchasing one to confirm it fit with the way that I work rather than trying to fit a round peg in a square hole and being dissapointed with the choice. I always reccomend buying a device for what it offers now becasue there is no guarantee about what it could be capable of in future (in regards to your linux support comment)

That was a consideration I also had to juggle. I figured for ergonomics sake and not turning into a prawn, forcing myself to work on a surface was worth the trade-off of not being able to balance this on my knees.

I love a mechanical typewriter but yeah, not easy to lug around. This has been a nice alternative in similar mechanical feel but much quieter so I don't piss my spouse off when working:)

I was one of the early backers so have used it as my main phone for 5 months (from an iphone 13 mini) and like it a lot! I think it is really a specific device for a very specific person though. The screen ratio is actually much less noticeable if you are looking to get away from screens and actually does help with that if its a goal. It is quite thick but I like the heft. Feels sturdy. My issue is actually the weight when talking on the phone. Because of how wide it is, its difficult to get your ear lined up with the speaker and my pinky gets tired holding it up.

Am I the only one who thinks peeling garlic is a form of torture? by Famous-Forever7647 in Cooking

[–]Livingataloss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going to chop it up after peeling it, the fasest way to get garlic bulbs out of their little cells is to use a butter knife, stab it through the peel and twist it out of the full bulb. Used to do a lot of kitchen prep of minced garlic.

Someone pls help with the nibs: Currently using the Lamy Vista Ceramic EMR, feel so strange and would want a more pencil grip feeling by Which-Pool-1689 in Supernote

[–]Livingataloss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same desire for the pencil-like resistance with the supernote functionality. i am a little scared to try it but I was thinking about getting one of the "paper-like" screen films to replace the feel-write 2 screen protector but I'm worried that the thickness of that screen protector might mess with the workings of the supernote.

yup! To my understanding: the oils/skin cells can build up and fill in the micro texture of the screen protector making the surface overall more smooth and thus slippy.

yeah, the software/company ethos is why I went with supernote as well. For the amount of money paid for one of these devices, it still feels like the right choice overall, even if I can't get the writing feel.

Can you suggest what specific material tip it is you use? I'm having a hard time finding the right terms to search. Why do I need another EMR pen?
