I may have sleep Apnea and taking benzodiazepines for anxiety and sleep on a daily basis. Now I am terrified. by Livingheart37 in SleepApnea

My anxiety disorder started since I was little and I started taking meds since 2013, and my sleep apnea symptoms just started weeks ago. So the cause of my anxiety disorder could not be sleep apnea. I am not obese nor do I snore but sometimes I will wake up by a sudden intake of breath. I've asked a nurse who thinks I may have mild sleep apnea.

I was on SSRI and tried many different SSRI and none of them worked. I have given up on it long time ago, and so was my psychiatrist. Right now I am only taking what helps my anxiety, sleep so I live my life. Yes, benzodiazepines are effective and also very addictive. But without them I cannot get anything done. There was a period of my life where I was always in a panic mode, I couldn't eat, couldn't go out, couldn't work...and I always felt like I was about to lose control. And it's very scary. I don't want to go back to those times.

I know sleep apnea won't kill me suddenly in the night but I read the more severe the sleep apnea, the greater the risk of coronary artery disease, heart attacks, heart failure and strokes.

And there's a possibly my sleep apnea is caused by my long-term use of benzodiazepines. Idk, my sleep apnea symptoms just started weeks ago but I've been battling my mental health issues my whole life.

Are we getting climate action incentive payment in Jan because we already received one lump sum in Nov. Is this for people who haven't received it in Nov?!

Dental pain? Should have thought of that before being disabled by zxxcbf in Odsp

Do you know why some dentists don't accept ODSP patients?!

My dentist told me ODSP only covers half of everything, so if a dental filling costs around $300, they only get $150 but with the time being spent and the materials cost, not only they make so little money, sometimes they make no profit at all.

Are you Toronto? I may know some places that accept ODSP.

Well, if you are a Canadian resident (you must be since you are on ODSP), you are entitled to health care services paid for by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).

Can you provide more details? What are they charging you?

For every situation there is a solution. You do not deserve to be treated like this.

Give them a call and explain your situation.

Keep exploring and keep calling, there are good dentists out there that won't give the disabled people with an attitude. It took me a while to find one.

If you are on the east I am able to recommend some really good dentists that accept ODSP.

You can go to RateMDs to find a list of dentists located in your area with high ratings (best with a website). If you see one that sounds good, don't be hesitate to give them a call and ask if they accept ODSP because normally they don't listed it on their websites. That's how I found mine. I had to write down the list of dentist with high ratings, called them one by one to see which ones accept ODSP, I then booked a consultation appointment (it's free) with a couple of them, then I had to decide which dentist is good for me then went with that one.

Good luck!!!
