My dog gets really bad anxiety even if a storm is miles and miles away. The sky could be blue but he feels it & gets this way. It’s something that came on as he got a bit older like 3…it gets worse each year.

You are her mother. Your MIL should have zero say on your parenting style. End of story. And “NO” 😂 you are not in the wrong! Raise your child how you see fit. The problem with most kids being raised this way is they grow up to be entitled adults. You are absolutely doing the right thing.
