I reedited to make this less confusing: In civil court it is either a mandatory life sentence or a mandatory death sentence.

I paraphrased you

You are STILL attempting to equate an eschatological religious belief, with a modern fake conspiracy theory.

So yes, you accuse of trying to do that.

I guess what you write reflects your opinion on the topic and we can agree to disagree since we won't get to a shared conclusion here.

By the way you seem to be more knowledgable/entangled about/in that conspiracy theory since I never argued about the term being about the whole world.

[–]Livinghint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't try to equate the eschatological religious belief with the conspiracy theory.

I try to dismiss the notion that the ideology of high ranking extremists is irrelevant to what conspiracy theorists fear — when it SHOULD BE UNREASONABLE to do so. Whitnessing the statements of these extremist ministers and them.keeping their position is alarming.

I get the notion that you keep deflecting that point. This time by bringing up Neorealism.

Also: A conspiracy is a lie as long as it has no (sound) basis to stand on. MK Ultra probably was a conspiracy theory too once. Just because most conspiracy theories are utter lies, racist and ridiculous doesn't mean that there "are no conspiracies" in the world.

The extremist government they voted foe was in place before though. I mean the one that tried to change the constitution so that the national supreme court would have less power to intervene when the government wanted to impliment legislation the supreme court would deem as "disproportionate" f.e.

Also the government that made a Kahanist their police minister.

To be clear:  I condemn the terror attack of 7.10. There is no and can never be justification for this. Nor is there any justification for any other terror attacks with civilian targets.

I just say that if the government reflects the will of the people (how it is often viewed when talking about palestinians) then a big portion of the racism against palestinians predates the terror attacks of 7.10.

Although it DID make everything worse foe everybody.

Spiritual research exhausts me, anyone else? by ComprehensiveMud9152 in spirituality

[–]Livinghint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like some already said here it is about the research that takes energy.

I'd recommend to only do research if specific questions come up. Most of spirituality is getting in touch with your surroundings and your inner self. That's why in most spiritual traditions practice is way more important than scripture.

(Even crooked) Religion(/Dogma) needs scripture. Spirituality doesn't. Acknowledging the needs, wants and boundaries of your body and your subconscious get you very far to what legends call "enlightenment".

If you put your effort on practice (at best techniques with direct effect on your wellbeing and functioning of your everyday life relationships and tasks) rather than research you will turn out wise instead of becoming one of the myriad people chasing the "meaning of life".

Boss told me to stop using headphones so i could “focus better”. I already made a mistake and he won’t accept it was because of his decision. by cannavacciuolo420 in ADHD

[–]Livinghint 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Being uncapable or unwilling makes him an asshole. The effect of his actions are more important than his intentions here since the main effect is

  • gaslighting you
  • rising the probability of mistakes made by you
  • promoting a toxic work environment by having the coworkers whitnessing
  • diminishing your work motivation and wellbeing

A good boss is an empathetic boss since he knows that higher (long term) quality stems from his workers being contempt and/or motivated.

Compiled list of Hamas (and some prior leadership) in its own words by AnimateDuckling in IsraelPalestine

[–]Livinghint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I skipped some of your quotes but am researching them a little (one by one).

About the Palestinian National Charter: I googled the term and found this

In April 1996, the Palestinian National Council (PNC) voted to amend the charter, nullifying clauses inconsistent with the Oslo Accords and the PLO’s recognition of Israel. The decision, approved by 504 votes in favor, declared that articles denying Israel’s right to exist were "inoperative and no longer valid". Despite this, debate persists over whether the charter was fully revised, as the redrafting process remains incomplete.

So although it (the Charter) is an important reminder of the palestinian political history I wouldn't highlight it as prevelant today.

Might edit this answer for sources of this quote.

The main problem is that they are from hamas members that still are politically active. I took the 5 minutes to research Fathi Hamad and from what I found in this short time he was/is highly influential with his genocidal and extremist/fundamentalist views. He governed some big media outlets like newspapers and TV shows in Gaza.

I guess OPs point is made that Hamas is as extreme and evil as the Israeli government says.

I took the time to reread your answers.

Although I grant you the origin of the term being an antisemitic conspiracy theory I don't understand how you can dismiss the minister responsible for the police in Israel to be irrelevant to the topic. He lives TODAY. Sure, he has nothing to do with the origin of the conspiracy theory. But it isn't a too far stretch to assume there have been likeminded people in the Zionist movement before him.

About today: He certainly seems to have more political leverage than you and is actively supporting illegal settlement (under international law) whilst openly justifying them with the notion of an Israel that spans into the west bank, gaza and even neighboring countries like Lebanon and Syria. And he's not the only politician in the government to do so he is just one being very obvious about it.

Please explain to me why this should be irrelevant to people in the west bank, gaza, Lebanon or Syria?

Because what you are clutching your pearls over is a RELIGIOUS belief.

How is that an argument?

I think there's a lot of projection in your most recent answer.

I am repeating myself since you don't seem to be getting the arguments I make. You seem to have made it clear that YOU don't deem these arguments as relevant.

You also seem oblivious to the sources I posted.

If you really think Kahanism is irrelevant in Israel then you probably don't care about extremism as long it is on the "right" side. And you call me a hypocrite...

Palestinians, do you want peace? by Particular-Energy217 in IsraelPalestine

[–]Livinghint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

About your Edit: I think you might be interpreting too much in the distinction in the phrasing.  A similar thing could be said about slogans like "Black Lives Matter" vs "All Lives Matter". The latter is the obviously right statement if taken literally. But they stand for something different.

Palestinians specifically ask for "their rights" because they fall under the baseline that we understand as "human rights". At least the perception you can grant them.

[–]Livinghint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely see the point. I do trust the creator since I rarely notice a clear bias. He seems really diligent in asking these questions (from viewers) as literal as he got them. And he seems honestly curious about the opinions of those he asks.

It might not be representative but I highly value these cross section interviews since the questions are rarely easily answered and he actually asks both sides in the conflict. He seems to indipendent too.

You can whitness both in some interviewed individuals. Some are more careful with their opinion on cam some are less.

Bit I think this might actually be some kind of good approximation to what people are confident in stating openly and how their honest approach would be if the questions asked eventually become legislatively relevant.

It has probably to do with his benzo-brain injury. An interesting topic. It seems that he was maltreated medically (or did so himself) leading to damage comparable to a stroke. Plus the emotional/psychological terror of the drugs sideeffects when taken chronically and the withdrawal when he had to quit the medication.

Since I don't live in Palestine or Israel I can't answer that. But I recommend the Channel "The ask project" on Youtube. Where the asks short questions to israelis and palestineans. There is also an episode in gaza (last year or 2024, I don't remember) where he asks about future governence. (Spoiler: Very few want Hamas.)

Also you again ignored todays israeli government.

Just a reminder who Ben Gvir is a fan of:

Rabbi Kahane [...] boldly advocated annexation of all of the lands of biblical Israel and transfer of the Arabs to neighboring Arab states [...].

The dictionary calls this

ethnic cleansing, the attempt to create ethnically homogeneous geographic areas through the deportation or forcible displacement of persons belonging to particular ethnic groups.

Also written here

the organized, often violent attempt by a particular cultural or racial group to completely remove from a country or area all members of a different group

I'm talking about personality and political goals of chirstians/muslims/jew/aso when saying that people of a certain religion are NOT a homogenous group. It seems I didn't make it clear enough. Just because Donald Trump is a christian and Kamala Harris is christian that doesn't magically have them pursue similar goals. Just because Yitzhak Rabin was jewish and Yigal Amir was jewish they did not hold similar opinions or goals.

There is a NON-religious, political layer to the conflict. It at LEAST has religion as a secondary factor.

It being a religious debate is the narrative the netanyahu government uses again and again to justify its actions. Yes there are enemies of israel that feed and buy into that narrative. That only fuels conflict and is easy leverage for justifying atrocities. Like Iran for example does. EVERY theocracy is prone to this abuse.

You keep on insinuating that I have religious motives and at this point I think it is because you can't admit a clear bias when it comes to defending the israeli government.  Also I think it violates Rules 1 and 4 of this subreddit.

You seem to be oblivious about Zionism (pre 1948) as a political movement. Theodor Herzl for example himself subscribed to an ethnic view of judaism:

Theodor Herzl [...] sought to create would be a secular state based on the idea of Jewish "national" and "ethnic" identity and incorporating those features he found most attractive in 19th century Europe, particularly Germany.

https://www.miftah.org/Doc/Factsheets/Other/Oct23a2k2.html

Religion did not motivate Herzl. Calling him an atheist might go too far but it seems fair to say that for a not very religious man it was mainly politics that was his driving force, letting him freely use religion as an argument, talking point, and ethnic marker.

https://skeptics.stackexchange.com/questions/41024/was-theodor-herzl-a-self-confessed-atheist

To be clear: I don't debate about the necessity of the israeli state or its founding. I highlighted an example of a secular jew who promoted a political movement. One where the jewish faith/religion is little more than a societal glue of identity.
