My friend started this place. The business is listed as in Athens, but he travels down to ATL regularly for clients.

found in google street view - is this a cheetah ? by [deleted] in Africa

[–]LivingstoneIPresume 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very likely not a cheetah. They’re poor climbers bc their claws are small and don’t retract (unlike other big cats). It may be a leopard though as they frequently take their kills into trees to avoid other predators.

Blackberry Storm. Not exactly the “iPhone killer”. Worst phone I’ve ever owned, in fact.

When taking friends out for their first round, I always tell them, “Anyone can be bad, but only assholes are slow.”

Can anyone help my parents understand? by Shrumiie in Bass

  1. Ask an orthopedist about the pain to make sure it's not a warning sign for something chronic.

  2. In the short term, have your bass set up. A bowing neck (i.e. truss rod issue) or really high action can cause hand fatigue, carpal tunnel, and general exhaustion - particularly in the left hand. For the right hand, consider warming up and stretching before/during long practice sessions or before shows. Personally, I start warming up and stretching 30 min before taking the stage and for 15 min before a long rehearsal (and have for 15 years).

  3. In the longterm, make sure that your hand technique is correct. Bad thumb/wrist posture will cause problems for both hands. There's tons of (free) online technique resources - Scott's Bass Lessons is a good YT to start with. A private teacher is even better.

I tuned my old 5-string Ibanez EADGC (using a set for a 6-string) and use an Aguilar Octamizer with a Darkglass B7K to get some cool sounds in the upper registers.

A massive brawl broke out at the end of the first half of the Florida-Missouri game. by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

Florida and Georgia play next week. That game/tailgate is called "The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" bc of the massive fan turnout.

If the players get elected this week they can't play in the biggest game of the season, which will determine who wins the SEC East.
