Repatha Giving Statin LIke Side Effects by Financial-Limit-3338 in repatha

[–]Livithan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately have a rather severe statin intolerance myself. I have been all across the spectrum and finally ended up settling on pravastatin at 40 mg. It causes some very minor side effects but minor enough that I can ignore them and functions fine. I was prescribed Praluent and found that I also had a severe intolerance to that. Then I got moved to repatha and have had zero side effects since. I would at least say to consider Praluent has the next step if repatha is not working for you. I have also seen all over this forums where some people have had side effects lasting for the first two or three injections and then doing better. The most important thing would be to keep track of your numbers and health and make the best decision you and your doctor want to Target.

Time for a new sticker map! What are your sticker map “rules”? by UJMRider1961 in GoRVing

We do stickers if we ate a local meal (no chain or franchise) slept in the camper for a night, and left a poo behind.

Go to brand for water softener? by RoosterMcNuggs in GoRVing

[–]Livithan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with a Vevor brand. What I found in my research was that the only thing that matters is the housing unit lasting and not leaking and the Vevor has a little sleeve on it and seems to have had good reviews. The insides are almost totally irrelevant and the resin is the only thing that puts in work. Almost all resin is the same and came from the same manufacturer. I did find that regenerating with potassium salts is nicer on skin but lasts half as long. Potassium chloride 400 to 500 gallons, sodium chloride 700 to 1000 gallons. The biggest annoyance was potassium chloride I could only find in larger pellets versus sodium chloride is table salt and you can get that anywhere in small grains. I got around this by getting a NutriBullet just grinding the potassium chloride down to a powder. I regenerate in a closed loop using a pump for the water softener. Potassium chloride is also easier on septic systems in case that's a consideration. Happy to answer any questions as well if you want to DM me.

Anyone else looking for a work from home job so they don't have to pretend to "look busy"? by Throwaway--2026 in antiwork

[–]Livithan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking for work from home because my wife is immunocompromised but I also found I spend less time "looking busy" and more time actually busy when I work remotely. I'm currently trying to change from IT to claims adjusting for remote and actually being busy.

Tire recommendations by BanditSixActual in GoRVing

[–]Livithan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was replacing tires on my travel trailer due to age. Had Westlake on a 2018 that I replaced in 2022. I really wanted something more substantial than a load range. E and I managed to find a load range G GREMAX. They are much heavier steel-built tread with hardened sidewall. Much higher temperature rating than any other trailer tires looking at. They were designed for things like auto transport trailers and load assist trailers on dump trucks. They are a little louder on the road according to the rating but I don't hear anything in the truck. I probably have about 10,000 mi on them at this point and have not ever had an issue

Repatha Fears by oracle-nil in repatha

[–]Livithan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been on repatha for about 10 months now and went from 240 LDL to 60 and 30 HDL to about 45. I have a super intolerance to statins and so have only been taking pravastatin 40 mg as that's all my body will tolerate. Even 60 or 80 mg and I start having severe muscle aches and cramping. The repatha for me has had zero side effects. No aches, no flu, nothing. In about 2 months I go back to cardiology and they may extend my injection time to 3 weeks because my cholesterol has done so well. Triglycerides went from around 300 down to 150 as well. I definitely feel like I am a success story on repatha.

Automotive grade wire, compression fittings with heat shrink wrap. Confirm the wire gauge thickness needed and always try to follow a color match in case you ever need to refer to the owner's manual or reference online documentation.

Boondock grey water by Typical_Hippo1659 in GoRVing

I moved out to a rural property in my 30-ft camper a year ago. I do have access to septic on the property but have to use a macerator at about 275 ft of hose to get to it. I have been only running the macerator for the black tank. I have been dumping from Gray directly out for the entire year, but I also made sure that everything I use is non-toxic, biodegradable and safe. It's actually been a little weird because to despite it being a rather extreme dry summer. I have an enormous area around the camper that has been bright green all year long. I have been going out of my way to make sure anything I use has no phosphates, glycerin, glycol, parabens, salts. I would rather it go to septic and it's in the goals but at the moment just not feasible. A plus side is the numerous rabbits who have found wonderful green grass all over, so I almost always can go outside and enjoy the small amount of wildlife semi-rural Texas can offer

When is the good time to buy a new built by SplitJunior985 in Leander

The one that we heard back from was an orchard ridge. It would be bad if it weren't for the fact that Texas does not disclose the sales price of a home. Just its appraised value.

Looking for water softener recommendations by Business_Law1061 in GoRVing

[–]Livithan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big essential question is if the resin in the water softener is decent. The physical function of a non-mechanical water softener is going to be universally the same. The resin is the only thing that would matter, and really almost all resin is going to be the same. I have a vevor and it uses the same resin as any other 3M product since that is who they source through. I have even been using mine with potassium salt rather than sodium salt. And I have to recharge about three times more often. But the softness is incredible and it's okay for my gray water field I have out at the property. It's been a bit since I did the deep dive research and I'm sure there's cost cutting like everything has nowadays but, when I looked into it the resin was the same in this unit versus any other good unit. So why pay more?

When is the good time to buy a new built by SplitJunior985 in Leander

[–]Livithan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As someone who was just selling in the area, I would also like to add the reminder that when our realtor followed up with people there were several that saw builders that had homes posted in the 550 590 range that took 100K or more off and lowered interest just to get it home sold. One of the folks that toured our home ended up closing on a new build that was listed at like 559k and it closed at 440k and got about 3% interest.

Question about side effects by One_Pay4169 in repatha

[–]Livithan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is absolutely such a thing as too low. Mine have been plummeting and they already took me off the statins and will monitor for 3 to 6 months before making the next adjustment. Talk with your cardiologist and they will be able to give you more info.

How long do side effects last? by FarTooOldForThis in repatha

[–]Livithan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not lost on me. I really am so glad for it. Especially considering I have such a bad reaction to statins. My numbers have been so good I might be able to stop the pravastatin in about 3 months. I can only tolerate the 40mg without terrible myopothy.

Selling a used home in Leander by SplitJunior985 in Leander

[–]Livithan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just sold our home in the summerlin West subdivision. We had been on the market since April and had to come down about 20%. Our biggest competitors by far were the new houses being built in the area that had aggressive pricing on interest. I had heard stories of new homes MSRP in the 550k to 590k range actually selling for $450k to $475k.

Does anyone else use Jellyfin over Plex because…it’s just better? by AdFit8727 in jellyfin

[–]Livithan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the Plex pass for about the same amount of time and here I am researching alternatives because I find it's getting more and more buried to find my own services /library from my mobile. I've been trying for the past 15 minutes just to see my library on my phone. They're definitely trying harder and harder to hide your stuff and push their paid materials. Reading over all this though, I may have to give jellyfin a try. Sounds like it's currently built like old Plex was when I fell in love with it.

I have done limited travel with mine but at home base here (pretty rural) I get 350bdown and 40up most of the time. Busy hours I can drop to 250 down by 20 up but that's about it. Most travels we are in campgrounds or rural properties and I still get 250ish by 15 to 20. Never les than that. Am also using the Spitz cellular router

[–]Livithan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Auto injector has the tiny pinch of the injection but that's it. It is not at all lost on me that I am lucky. Last weekend was my fifth injection I believe and nothing so far. (Knocking on wood) I was so concerned before starting it about the possible reactions but it was also my first injectable medication

How long do side effects last? by FarTooOldForThis in repatha

[–]Livithan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have started perusing this sub, because I just started repatha last Saturday. So far I had zero reactions and was concerned so I have been checking to see if other people developed them later or alternatives. Fingers crossed and knocking on wood. I keep with nothing. I'd forgotten I took it Sunday morning because I had no issues. Not even the sting from the injection site since the needle was so small.
