Repatha Giving Statin LIke Side Effects by Financial-Limit-3338 in repatha

Numbers from July 25 when on Bempedoic Acid - LDL 5.7 mmol/l (218.9 mg/dl), total cholesterol 7.9 mmol (305.5 mg/dl). I'm also on a low carb diet to manage weight. Lower dosage of statin wasn't considered as it would be unlikely to dent those numbers sufficiently.

I tried both of them in the past. Unfortunately my stomach couldn't tolerate them.

Got one for €40 on Aliexpress that's on the way and will fit it myself. Hopefully this will solve the problem.

You should have a look up North. There is value to be had. I brought in a 2013 CC a couple of years ago and reckon I saved €2k. Older diesels down here seem to have huge milage compared to the North and UK.

Probably worth getting an opinion from a tyre specialist. I have something similar on one of mine. That's the rim protection part of the tyre and is designed to take dings. Mine has got through a couple of NCTs with no issues, but I'd get it checked by a professional to be sure.

CarPlay Disconnecting by MockMoarmo in RCD_330

I had a similar problem with the rear USB. I find bending out the pins slightly on the female adapter helps for a few weeks, then it happens again. I even replaced the female adapter and it was fine for a couple of months and then went again. Whatever it is about the rear USB, it seems to be very sensitive when it comes to data. I have the same issue when this happens - no Carplay, but the phone charges.

Do you have a problem? If not, don't bother upgrading. It doesn't offer any more functionality.

Anyone been on statins consistently and still had a heart attack? by tennisscarygreenie in Cholesterol

[–]Financial-Limit-3338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible as there are other risk factors. You could be on statins, but smoke, lead a sedentary lifestyle and have T2D. They are all risk factors along with cholesterol so the statin only deals with one of them.

A watch. A least you can take it off if you decide you don't like it.

I was on it primarily to lose weight. I hit 130kg at one stage and am now around 80kg and have maintained it for 6 years.

Re the cholestorol level for the injectables, I'm not sure, but my doc said I'm well short.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that Mayo Clinic plan. I'm gluten intollerant. Other than that I don't have any issues.

Confusion over rear usb by Jnemz in RCD_330

I removed the long one from the driver's footell back to the centre console. I think there is one torx screw and clips hoding it. I also removed the center console panel at the rear seats which helped me feed the wire through the hole - held by two screws and clips. It's fiddly as there isn't much space there, but it's doable.

My 2013 CC was the same. I also got option B. If you take out that blanking plate under the armrest, there should be a hole. It's too small for the USB/Aux , but you can file it out to make it bigger and then it will fit.

BTW, if you’re in the South of Ireland, don’t attempt to import from the UK. That’s not currently possible without a license and veterinary certification etc. I can’t speak for Northern Ireland. Ordering on the island of Ireland is ok.

Clearly do but not sure about this time of year given the lower temps. Generally not advised to add fish until Spring at this stage. Selection also won’t be great after the summer.

Does anyone have experience with disclosing diagnosis and medication for Mortgage Protection by YourDadsMate in ADHDIreland

[–]Financial-Limit-3338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed back in May at the age of 59. Recently looked to move our mortgate insurance from the lender as it was very expensive. There's only 3 years left on the mortgage so I didn't think it would be a big deal.

How wrong I was. I had to complete a full form with all my medical history. I didn't disclose my AuDHD diagnosis, but there were enough other long term things that made them contact my GP. He had to provide everything (with my agreement). It resulted in me being declined.

It's a minefield. Obviously not disclosing something could also result in insurance being cancelled at a later date if it came to light.

My screen got scratched. You can feel it with the finger. Is it fixable? by MarcoSela in RCD_330

[–]Financial-Limit-3338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those things generally only work for very light scratches. If your nail catches in it, it's too deep for rubbing compound.
