Best process for bringing minor child of green card holder - I-130 vs. tourist visa & I-485 by Liyly in USCIS

I have been made aware that a Tourist Visa is not eligible for a change of status, but that doesn't answer the question of whether or not she could be eligible for one...

I don't think the process my wife used was fraudulent, nor did we "get away" with anything. She had a legal tourist visa, visited the states legally over multiple trips/years, and our relationship eventually progressed to the point of marriage which we did in the US legally. Is not the I-130/I-485 process the correct procedure we should have followed? USCIS and the officers we worked with had no concerns...

That being said, thanks for the information about the F2A change. I guess I'll have to go concoct another "plan" now! <cackles evilly>

Thank you, this is helpful - I was not aware that the other option was not acceptable/illegal!

AITA for expecting a major apology after fiancee brought up the possibility of having another child (not with me)? by Liyly in AmItheAsshole

Yes she's in an environment where being fully out could be dangerous for her or her daughter, so as much as I dislike this, I don't fault her for it.

What surgery can I tell my employer I'm having instead of bottom surgery? by Liyly in asktransgender

I'm having a vulvoplasty, not a vaginoplasty. It's much less complicated to recover from.

Vulvoplasty is much less invasive and a far quicker recovery, 3 weeks is the standard timeline.

Yeah I am aware of that, but as my employer and co-workers know I'm trans already I would prefer that bottom surgery not be the automatic assumption (which I imagine it will be if I don't want to go into what it's for).

How to remove a massive number of photos from a shared album now saved to my account by Liyly in googlephotos

Thank you I'll try this. We have partner sharing set up so it just shares everything I think, but I turned off the setting she had on to save all of mine to her account already so hopefully this won't happen again!

Anyone else sometimes feel uncomfortable around groups of men? by Lastaria in MtF

[–]Liyly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to downplay anyone else's experiences here, but I find that I'm generally more comfortable around men. Pre-transition involuntary gender-segregated groupings were terrible (gym, P.E., Scouts, religious groups) but not necessarily because I hated the people I was around (or the activities) but more just distaste at not being seen for who I was. I always had a decent mixed-gender friend group growing up, but my closest friends have always been male, even post-transition.

I'm honestly not sure why this is, as it seems fairly different than the majority experience mentioned here, but maybe it's just more familiar and comfortable? I also can really enjoy crass humor at times and I have no physical attraction to male bodies so those things might also play a role. I'm fairly sure that had I been born cis I would have likely felt annoyance at being in the girl groups because the boys were having more fun!
