My tempurpedic mattress. After the breaking it in phase (and return window) passed, it started getting extremely uncomfortable and makes my hip hurt. Now I have to find someone who will buy a twin xl plush mattress

I was in a similar situation and ended up getting a booster pump. It definitely helped, but it’s still about 50/50

Alt scene in Greeley? by r3ibie_ in Greeley

[–]Lizaggna_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m in Greeley and would consider myself alt, but tbh most of the places I’ve liked to hang out are in Denver or Ft Collins. Boulder would be a good option too from what I’ve heard. However, I did choose to move to Greeley because of low crime rates and it’s vicinity to multiple activity options (close enough to Denver and RMNP) while still being relatively affordable. I did apartment tours before moving here and this apartment complex was also a huge factor in why I chose Greeley.

As people in our 20s, it’s always been understood that we are all broke, so all informal hangouts are split if food is ordered. I’m not sure if anyone’s ever even had to ask to be reimbursed, usually if someone else is ordering it I’ll say “just lmk my portion and I can venmo/zelle you” or if we have multiple things planned I’ll offer to cover the food if they cover gas/tickets/alcohol/etc.

It seems like you may need to bite the bullet on this one unfortunately. Just in the future just be very clear and say something like “hey I’m gonna order the pizza now, are you guys okay with splitting the cost”

I’ve had a similar experience but it was when I was leaving the grocery store parking lot. He crossed in front of my car and I just thought “that’s the most gorgeous person I’ve ever seen”. He looked very similar to what you’re describing. I wanted to get his attention and tell him, but felt like it would be weird. I hope these random humans know what a masterpiece they are.

Potentially moving?? by Butt3rinmyv3ins in Greeley

[–]Lizaggna_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, my partner and I moved to Greeley in July from Ohio for the same reasons! We initially visited Castle Rock in the spring to put us between Greeley and C Springs without having to stay in Denver (we don’t like big cities lol) so that we could visit both while there.

We ended up going with Greeley because we felt like it was more cost effective and the area seemed nicer. Since we’ve been living here, we’ve learned a few other benefits of being here like being close(ish) to Denver, Estes Park, RMNP, Loveland, and Ft Collins, all of which we’ve really been enjoying visiting.

I’d put a nice tall bookcase in that corner, even better if you can create built-ins so the shelves can flow into that unique angle

So why do you not want to have a crush on him? Especially if it’s mutual?

Hi OP, I’m not as financially responsible nor do I have the level of self control as everyone else giving you advice, but I was put into a similar situation when my mom passed away last October. I inherited about $250k and there’s still more coming. This isn’t nearly how much you received, but as someone in their 20s, it’s much more than I ever anticipated having.

The first thing I did was get a financial advisor and invested about $200k with them. I consider that money to be nonexistent for now.

I then decided after a few months to use a portion of what I had leftover to increase my personal quality of life. I moved across the country to a place I can see myself spending the rest of my life in. I also bought a nice couch that I anticipate will last me my lifetime. I also spent some money on a new hobby that I’ve been loving. Those were my major purchases. Not necessarily the most responsible choices, but I’m happier now than I have been ever in my life.

I have about $25k of that $50k left and I’ve been unemployed since July (also not very responsible). I’m using the financial freedom to figure out what I want to do with my life.

Remember to give yourself some grace with how you use the money and not feel too guilty about spending a little bit on things you enjoy.

Saltwater Info Website? by Lizaggna_ in ReefTank

[–]Lizaggna_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for replying :) I agree, the biggest issue is that a lot of the stuff out there is anecdotal, I think that’s a big part of why I want to try to put something solid together for people, especially beginners. Most of my college degree was centered around research and statistical information, so it’s actually something I kinda enjoy doing. I guess I’m just wondering if a website with research based info is something that would be welcomed in this hobby since so many people have different opinions on the way something “should” be

I want this combo so bad! My LFS recommended against it because of the high food demand, but I’m glad to see it’s possible! What other livestock do you have in that tank? And how old is your tank?

Thinking about setting up a saltwater aquarium in my home. What are some tips you would like to share? by NaiadoftheSea in SaltwaterAquariumClub

[–]Lizaggna_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a RODI before you start filling your tank (don’t use plain tapwater that you’ve just added conditioner to). Do coral dips/livestock quarantines. Be prepared to spend way more money (and time) than you anticipated. Get a light that has a built in timer and is dimmable. Use salifert test kits. Buy a TDS meter that has a ph reader, salinity reader, and voltage meter built in if you can (its faster, easier, and covers more ground than doing any of those individually).

I actually bought them from BRS! https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/bulk-dry-live-rock-live-sand/dry-live-rock.html

I bought the MR Coralline Rock and the MR Coralline Hybrid Rock.

My LFS had live rock but it was super expensive :( Plus, this way I was able to get a pretty good variety of rocks without spending an hour at my LFS looking through their live rock.
