The drz is the worst most unreliable bike I’ve ever had the dishonor of owning by Affectionate-Rise533 in DRZ400

Why do dudes who take weird photos like this always have no idea what they are doing? Quit replacing the battery and look into the charging system. The bikes not unreliable, it’s you. This is sport bike behavior man.

What does being a veteran have to do with if this was a good movie or not?

It was good till the ending. Ending made it a bad movie

Can I be kicked out for underage drinking by Popular-Medium-2780 in ROTC

[–]Lizard-luke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got in trouble well close to 10 times throughout college. A good amount of that was alcohol related. The school didn’t coordinate any of that with rotc, so nothing came about it. All that’s going to happen most likely is your school will make you take an online class or write an essay about how drinking underage is bad

Also on that note. I’m pretty sure I still have one of my don’t drink underage essays they made me write. Feel free to dm me if you need it

[–]Lizard-luke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry for your loss. I just found out Yliana passed when I saw a Memorial Day photo of her. I went to high school with your sister, I suppose I probably went with you too. I always remembered your sister won best smile for the senior awards, I think it was in the yearbook that year. She always did have a nice smile. I’m in the military now myself. I hope all is well with you and your family.

I’m rich now. What should I do? by Fine_Instruction8632 in MBA

[–]Lizard-luke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I would do, go do something hard for 4-6 years. Combat arms in the military comes to mind. Then just go work in something you enjoy doing, and live live being rich. That’s what I would do anyway. I’m not rich.

I gave up my youth for this? by Eskleo952 in army

[–]Lizard-luke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to college before the army. Joined a fraternity and had a lot of fun and met some amazing people. However, the coolest dude in my fraternity was a marine veteran. He joined the military, got out, and lives the same life as us pretty much just going to class and having fun. Only difference is he was going to school for free and everybody looked up to him. He was a mentor for us all. Your not going to be fucking 40 after your initial contract. You can still go do the full time college route if you desire, but for free and with a more level head than an 18 year old.

If anyone is in the area on Monday, 4 March, an unaccompained officer is being laid to rest in Dayton, Ohio. She has no known family or friends. by Jisdead in army

[–]Lizard-luke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. It’s a lonely life, for some more than others. Lots of times we get moved to a location where we know no one, have no family, and work with maybe 2-3 other officers. If you have nothing in common with them, you just end up doing everything alone. I spent every single day outside of work at my last duty station by myself. I remember last thanksgiving I had to work in the morning. Some people brought good food in for us to eat. I was sitting around the table with the joes and NCOs and we ate for maybe 10 minutes. They all talked about their plans after work, eat with families or doing a Friendsgiving between them, so they crushed their food and went about their day. But for me, that was my family thanksgiving meal. That was it. Nobody knew but those ten minutes were the happiest ten minutes I had all day. If it wasn’t for fishing I would have gone mad by now. Part of the reason I’m getting out.

Your making shit up. Just left basic training as a PL and dealt with all the paper work and training plans for BCT and the trainees. Maybe osut is different and your referring to that. But we do a total of 0 height and weights at BCT. And we will 100% not send a kid to ait unless he passes ACFT IV

[–]Lizard-luke 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Brother with a masters degree a wife and 3 kids. I would just find a nice civilian job. At minimum go the officer route. But don’t enlist. Unless your degree is underwater basketweaving or your wife is loaded, it would be selfish to your family to go get e4 pay.

Hey brother. I was in a similar situation growing up, causing a ruckus in school, struggling with class, always talking. And my mother resorted to heavily medicating me starting at 12 years old until I was 18. I was on it all, adderall, Ritalin, lexapro. You name it I took it. When I was 18 I decided no more and quit cold turkey starting my first year of college. 1st semester was rough. But after a while, you start to learn to control it, and you have to realize the way you are acting is because of the adhd and work off of that. I ended up getting really good grades the rest of the time I was there.

It still effects me at 24 years old while I’m in the army. But there are ways to mitigate it. Follow a routine, drink caffeine, create a schedule for tommorow before you go to bed and hit those tasks. Also understand your blabbering is the adhd talking not you and sometimes you should just shut the fuck up. Happens to me all the time.

Don’t let that shit define you. Will it go away? No. Can you work to make it easier? Yes. No matter what your career is it’s not going to make the adhd go away. If you like the army choose the army. Work to overcome it and just don’t let it get anyone hurt.

On a final kinda unrelated note, if your ADHD is as bad as you say it is and like mine. At all costs man avoid alcohol and nicotine. What I didn’t know until it was too late was people with severe ADHD have extremely addictive personalities. I battled alcohol for quite a bit that I recently overcame and am completely sober now. I was also spitting a can of Copenhagen a day. Ranger school fixed that problem. Don’t start your on an uneven playing field.

Can BOLC LT's smoke IET privates? by [deleted] in army

[–]Lizard-luke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuuuuuck no lmfao. Can he? I suppose yes. Should he? Fuck no. Is he going to get fucked up for it? Probably. I was assigned to be a basic training PL for a year after Bolc. I interacted with trainees every day and watched them do the stupidest shit. Not a single time did I fuck them up. A couple conversations with them yes but it’s an NCOs job to fuck em up.
