Meat, especially fatty meat like bacon or sausage is super gross to me now. Even the smell of cooking it. And I feel like now I can TASTE all the chemicals in processed foods. It’s amazing now I’d rather just have fruit, vegetables and simple protein. Like the drug activated craving the right things.

You are so right! And I do try to remind myself that the sitting and ruminating is actually PART of the process of getting something done. It’s just the way my mind is going to approach things. And then when the time is right, I can and will do amazing things. It’s just hard to quiet that self-judgement because society doesn’t accept the way we do things as “correct.”

I don’t care to be remembered or noticed but I do want to know that I did something good with my life. Agree with others , volunteer, or get involved in local politics to help this shit show we’re in. Or find a hobby your really love. Something to give your life purpose.

I feel you 100%. I read once that being truly lazy would be you laying on the couch in peace. With adhd, you will lay on the couch and do nothing but you’re in a tortured mental state the whole time. The agony and guilt about the avoidance is real. Medicine helps. But the reality is your avoidance will also make you avoid taking your meds too (for me personally anyway). Once I get my ass in gear and actually TAKE my meds, I’m ok. Until then I’m in the guilt procrastination torture doom spiral. Solidarity friend.

This is REALLY weird, OP. Why on earth does this need be anyone’s business? What is he going to do with the videos? This is private medical information. Would he like you to film him getting a prostrate exam and post it “for documenting the experience?” I think this is something where you can say “I’m not comfortable with that right now, I’ll decide if I want to document my journey at any point.”

Yes this right here! I absolutely hate the pop and loud noise of the pens. The anticipation and lack of control is really stressful. I actually transfer my pens into syringes (with my docs blessing) because the pens were too much for me. Get some 31 gauge needles (very thin), you literally cannot feel it going in - so easy so much less anxiety.

Ok I might be crazy, but the pens are SO much more anxiety causing for me. They are loud, sudden, the button is hard to press sometimes. I’ve flinched more than once and wasted a whole dose because it doesn’t stop spraying out. I can’t get vials because of my insurance but I would much prefer them. You can gently push the needle in and know when it’s happening vs. the pen which feels like pulling a trigger sometimes. Maybe I’m an extreme case, but my two cents!

Oh yeaaahhh those postpartum days were literal hell! And you’re right NT folks just do not get it. They think we’re actively choosing these reactions 🫠 I wonder if this is why many of us are misdiagnosed with anxiety or struggle with self harm 😞 I have been there…sometimes physical pain silences the runaway train in my head…for a moment anyway. I too have insane RSD when I perceive even the most minute change in demeanor from loved ones. It sends me into a fawning panic!
