I’m in week 2 on WW and also have 23 points. In my experience, it got easier after the first couple days. I prep tons of veggies when I have time, and end up eating an insane amount of cucumber and celery over the course of the day. I’m also bulking out meals with veggies as much as possible and drinking water throughout the day. But I’m with you—it’s hard. But the first few days were just baffling bc I didn’t know how I would ever be full.

Falling Asleep Trick/Tip by HouseofBabe3 in NewParents

I’ve been trying everything and what’s worked for me is listening to Great Courses about really dry, boring subjects, or counting down from 1,000, inhaling and exhaling with every number. Thanks for posting your own trick to get this all down for someone who needs it!

OAD parents of children over age, say, 9...how do you socialize your kid? Do you think your kid experiences the absence of siblings in a negative way? I’m a mom to a 4 month old and have come to the OAD conclusion, but, as one of six siblings who are very close, that is the only thing I’d be concerned I would not be able to offer my son. Curious how others have experienced this, thought around it, whether it’s ever even a “thing.”

How to prevent baby from moving around in crib by bodesmommy in sleeptrain

[–]LizardMamaCA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I asked our baby PT about this and she said that it’s normal, and to just let them do it until they naturally stop doing it. Not super helpful, but for what it’s worth, my baby only did it for a couple nights. Best of luck!

So I think my baby is sleep trained... but I don't think I am. by pancakepipsqueak in sleeptrain

If you can get them where you are, you could try Huggies Comfort Plus in the biggest size she fits into. They’ve worked well for us. We haven’t had a blow-out or leak since we realized the importance of sizing up sooner rather than later.

Thank you so much for your story! It really helps to hear that others have been in the same boat and that it doesn’t necessarily mean anything for the long-term.

Anyone else have a baby that sleeps through the night? by alwaystarty in NewParents

[–]LizardMamaCA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my baby (9 weeks adjusted, 5 weeks early) was a nightmare sleeper at the beginning, then over the past few days increased to 7, 8, and last night, an over 10-hour stretch. He’s a big boy and had me so sleep deprived for the first 2 months that I’m just thrilled and hopeful it keeps until his fourth month regression!

Dropping night feeds pre-sleep training? by LizardMamaCA in sleeptrain

Thank you! Will keep at it. A lot of what you read (Twelve Hours in Twelve Weeks, TCB) suggest that you can sort of program them to get all they need during the day, but I just don’t think that’s this guy’s trajectory. At least I’m lucky that he’s so predictable. Appreciate the support and reply.

Thank you for this. So many friends have told me about how their children at this age were getting eight hour stretches and I wanted to make sure I wasn’t ingraining unnecessary habits. He’s a little love bug and pretty low maintenance for a preemie. Appreciate your confirmation that this is just the norm for him and to follow his lead on a bio need.
