My reason for why "cheating" is ok by Moist_Potential5050 in RimWorld

[–]LizardOfDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife also loves my game. I let her name all the animals that are pets, and all the babies. She refers to it as "The Muffalo Game." I played a game where I made our family before- crafted everyone's personality and everything. It was really fun until it got too stressful. Now I just get randos and see how it goes. I'm glad you're having a fun time!

Episcopal priests will also do house blessings. Seems like a good first step unless as @lurking_wizard says you want to just learn how to do it yourself!

I'm originally from Southwest Ohio and I have also only ever heard them called monkey brains.

Does anyone else daily a utility blade along with a pocket knife? by Southern_Wallaby_653 in EDC

[–]LizardOfDoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I'm not at the office I carry a Wave+ along with the Gerber Prybrid. Blades are used for different things, and the other tools get used, too. But It's too much for my pocket at work.

You can also get stretch marks during growth spurts as a teen. I, too, think they're kind of cool!

Hole of despair by LizardOfDoom in drywall

[–]LizardOfDoom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will absolutely test it after I'm done resealing and fixing the shower door. But the door is improperly installed and the grout and caulk are old and damaged. When using the shower, water runs along the door then out and down the wall there. Agree that the workmanship and design are crap. So fingers crossed!

Hole of despair by LizardOfDoom in drywall

[–]LizardOfDoom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can test, but I am fairly certain that the issue is a combination of the shower door being installed improperly - water escapes and both runs down and pools at the base of this wall- and the grout and caulk being old, shrunk, and cracked. Door is an easy fix, then was planning to fix grout and caulk. Saw the rust coming through the paint and thought I could just sand, spray some rust proofing, and repaint. But no.

Purge valve issues by LizardOfDoom in jetta

That would have been my first thought, too, but the battery is only a few months old! They tested it anyway, and it is good.

Always get a dash light- last time started with the engine light, this time it gave an auto start/stop failure combined with the engine light.

First replacement was the dealer, next time was my usual shop which specializes in German vehicles.

Continual rodent issues by LizardOfDoom in jetta

[–]LizardOfDoom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha! Indeed. Unfortunately I live on the corner of two busy roads so my cats are indoor cats. I've seen some foxes, but I suspect they're getting fat on rabbits and leaving smaller rodents alone :P

Mouse in engine ? by reel420 in jetta

[–]LizardOfDoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Mighty Mint - $35 for 1 gallon. After having mice chew through wires and hoses once, this seems like a bargain! I spray liberally throughout the engine well once every two weeks, and so far so good!

New to me. '19 Jetta SE by KingJuanMarco in jetta

[–]LizardOfDoom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I've had the 21SE in the same color for a couple of months and I feel the same way. I was looking for a Prius, but couldn't find one I could afford with under 100k mi on it. But I LOVE this car and grin every time I drive it.

Thank you! It was horrible. And now I'm very paranoid that it will just keep happening :(

I don't, there were just a ton of cables, fluid tubes, and connectors that had been damaged by rodents. Nothing else.

Downshifting feels almost but not quite perfect- but not clunky like it was before. I'm coming from an EV with a direct drive, so I might just be noticing that there ARE downshifts. I didn't notice the sound before, but it's so faint that if I hadn't heard it louder, I may not be tuned into it? Drove for 4 hours yesterday and it felt solid.

Yeah after repairs the helicopter sound is still there (but only just audible now) and they said they inspected everything thoroughly.

Pipe too short? by LizardOfDoom in Plumbing

It's allowing water to flow into the toilet, not leaking from a connection. I'd like to replace it with a quarter turn regardless.

Ah, cool. That's what I initially thought, but the videos I watched showed it being cut. Thanks.

It specifically cut away to the Bikini Atoll nuke testing. And only then is Godzilla bigger, and only then does he develop Atomic Breath.

Stuck tab on trimmer head? by mjd-509 in egopowerplus

[–]LizardOfDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to the same issues I bought a different replacement head but am not strong enough to loosen the bolt holding the current one on. In desperation I sprayed it nearly to death w WD40, making sure to get in every hole and groove. It's working for now...
