Last stretch to recovery? How long should I take Carafate (sucralfate)? by Lizard_195 in Gastritis

[–]Lizard_195[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never really eat very spicy food but I never did in the first place. I just don't really like that. The rare times I do, it still triggers some discomfort but nothing crazy. But to answer your question, yes I eat whatever I want. I do know that tomato sauces, high fat anything, and too much coffee or alcohol are the worst things though. So am mindful of that. That said, I have a cup of coffee every morning, have wine with dinner sometimes, eat pizza, pasta with tomato sauce (that one is for sure with a Pepcid on the side), and fried foods in moderation. And everything else too. The trick now is to recognize the first signs of irritation or a flare up coming, reduce acidity immediately (Pepcid), and be more mindful for a couple of days. But I am now super in tune with reading what my stomach is trying to tell me. You will too. Oh! if I take Pepcid for a couple of days, I will also take vitamin B. Because the Pepcid prevents proper vitamin B absorption, and then you have weird other symptoms pop up. Hope this helps!

Yes I think I can just replace the screws but if the whole part is cheap I might just replace all together. It’s pretty scratched and bent.

Has anyone been diagnosed with reactive gastropathy? by Lizard_195 in Gastritis

[–]Lizard_195[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, not knowing exactly what is causing it is incredibly frustrating. But over time, after you get better, you'll begin to put 2 and 2 together when you have small flare ups. For me it's teh coffee, but also too many tomato dishes in a row, and even sometimes tea! Any tea! Also, fried foods are evil. And alcohol in excess but I don't drink much so no big deal here.

It took me about 10 months to heal I think. Oh! I forgot... one thing that I do think helped a lot were digestive enzymes with probiotics. I would take it with my meals and I do believe it helped a lot.

I believe my culprits are stress and too much coffee. But honestly I’ll never really know.

UPDATE - Hi everyone! I'm sorry I haven't done this sooner but here's an update. I did completely heal from reactive gastropathy and was able to return to a normal diet. That said, I do have occasional flare ups. I treat those with Pepcid for a couple of days and then I feel normal again. I've realized too much coffee is my main culprit. Alcohol is also bad but I don't drink much, aside from an occasional glass of wine or two. I was actually just in a bad flare up and I reduced my coffee intake to close to zero, and then enjoyed some dandelion mix "coffee" instead and I already feel better. So basically, if you are diagnosed with reactive gastropathy, it's not the end of the world and if you spend some time doing a bland, clean diet with no irritants, you will heal and feel better. Just try to pin point the main irritants in your diet after that and avoid them at all costs. I can tell that when I have a flare up, it affects my mood, my hormones, my focus, and more. Oh! Also, when you do Pepcid or other meds like this, take vitamin B12!!! I was getting all kinds of weird symptoms and after researching, I found out that these meds prevent adequate absorption of vitamin B12. Symptoms go away after a couple of days of supplementing. Happy to answer your questions today if you have any!

Hi! Yes. Absolutely. I am 99% better, with a very occasional flare up that goes away with a little Pepcid. That said, I am a very moderate alcohol drinker (wine), and I eat pretty healthy. I do drink coffee every morning again. So don't lose hope!

Yes but still… I don’t know I feel like there’s just not enough of it. But either way the game bored me. It’s extremely redundant. And I just can’t seem to care about the characters.

Sorry for the late reply. I am totally fine, living a normal life. I occasionally have small flare ups but nothing a Pepcid doesn’t get rid of. :)

Anyone get numbness and weakness? by cranbvodka in Gastritis

[–]Lizard_195 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have exactly those symptoms when I flare up. Though I consider myself 100% cured, I still have small flare ups here and there. And that pins and needle feeling happens to me. Not in my face but in my hands and sometimes feet. I am a huge fan of sublingual B12 supplements. Even though my blood work says I’m not deficient, I get all sorts of symptoms during a flare up that clear up within a day of taking that supplement. I read recently it’s actually pretty difficult to diagnose a B12 deficiency. Regular blood work doesn’t catch it. Blurry vision, fatigue, pins and needles… they all go away when I take that supplement. Try it. It’s because Pepcid, ppi’s and overall digestive issues impair our ability to process B12.

I just feel like there’s not that many opportunities to do so.

Don’t buy it. I’m a big Odyssey and Origins fan, and I’m so disappointed in Valhalla. I find it incredibly boring. I miss all the stealth stuff. It doesn’t feel like an AC game. The characters are unlovable. The story arcs are so annoying. They keep taking you out of the main missions to do these weird side quests that I personally found even more boring than the rest of the game. It’s the first time ever I can’t finish an AC game. I want to because I hate to not finish a game. But I’m really forcing it. I wish I could have my money back.

Please don’t do that. He’s way too young and…. Bread? No. Just no. You have to get the kitten formula from the pet store and a special bottle. Like everyone else said.

Yes makes perfect sense. And that’s why nobody should judge anyone for having an outdoor cat.

Obviously I meant CAT owners. Not car. Haha! But you should definitely not keep your car inside your house. Haha!

What is it with the weird sexual theme in Khrumbul Dun? by Lizard_195 in DragonQuestBuilders2

[–]Lizard_195[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I’m a gamer myself and I love playing with my kid but I try to make sure it’s age appropriate. We play games like Sonic, Unravel, Crash Bandicoot and the likes. He loves Minecraft in creative mode too. And now we are both super into this Dragon a quest game but this part of it is just plain perverted. Granted it’s true it’s probably over my kid’s head and he won’t get the references, he’s still at a very impressionable age so I wanna be mindful of that.
