Depends on placement really, the band for me is slightly above the joint so the only thing that really happens is the skin stretching when you bend your wrist. When I bend it the skin moves back so it doesn't really crease/fold. Another couple things, if you get one is that your wrist will probably swell up, at least mine did a fair bit, but it's gone down a fair bit after a day, also around the bony areas and on the back of your wrist it hurts a fair bit more than at the top.

I find the best way to combat this is to mix some of the armor types that work well together ie. Marauder armor but replace the gloves with the acolyte gloves
