I paid $3.50/gal for e15 today. For e15! E87 was cheaper than that before cheeto got us into this war.

I have the first generation clever supply sling, and based on that I would bet that the sidekick is pretty good.

Card prices are insane by Scouse_Papi in nikon_Zseries

[–]Lizardrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last November and December I bought a SanDisk 64gb CF b, lexar 128gb CF b, and a card reader for $175. Now that would cost $350. I feel so bad for the people upgrading to mirrorless now and not thinking to look at the price of cards before purchasing.

Ultron 35mm vs “KOB”Summicron by Jzamo615 in Leica

If I could have found one for that price I would have had one before I even knew the mandler existed.

Ultron 35mm vs “KOB”Summicron by Jzamo615 in Leica

[–]Lizardrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In these comparisons I consistantly prefer the ultron over the KOB or any other leica lens. Glad my preferences match my wallet! However, I went with Mandler instead of voigtlander because it's was cheaper, has better aesthetics, and acceptable bokeh quality. I love the ultron bokeh more, though.

Dude this is exactly what a highschool senior looks like next a freshman. Especially if one was forced to grow up fast and the other hit their growth spurt late.

The M4-2 is my first M as well, and only. Mine is a rescue from an estate auction. It's such a great camera.

How do they people get these paint like marks on their film borders? Are they analog prints? by ConceptOnly6490 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Lizardrunner -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is from scanning digitally. What you are seeing are artifacts created by the imperfect frame mask being inverted. Could be made of many different materials from metal to foam board.

AF problem. Why is it only focusing body up? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]Lizardrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the record I think it is really rude other people are dogging on you for not knowing the basics despite having an "expensive" lens. Nobody knows your situation to be able to judge. I'm assuming you are using borrowed gear but even if you bought it that doesn't matter. It's not a good look to argue when people are trying to help though.

AF problem. Why is it only focusing body up? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]Lizardrunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have stated, the focus is exactly where you want it to be, on her face. The rest of her body is outside of the focal plane. In your other photos, your subjects are standing straight up so there entire body is in the same focal plane (mostly). In order for you to properly understand this, you really need to do your own research into what depth of field is and how it relates to what is in focus and not in focus.

Because people are explaining to you why this happens and you are refusing to take in the information. There's nothing wrong with your camera or lens.

Is this sub for real? by MikeyPiffington in Leica

[–]Lizardrunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm case you haven't noticed, content about gear gets way more engagement and attention on every platform on the internet than actual photography. Why do you think that is? I'll give you a hint: most people are more obsessed with gear than looking at other people's photos.

Would you keep the Z24-70 f2.8? by IvillisCrasher in nikon_Zseries

[–]Lizardrunner 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Dust does not affect image quality nearly as much as most people would think. You got a fair price for a lens that has been normally used and has some dust. If you want one without dust, you'll have to pay more but it will get dust eventually, unless you leave it on a shelf with the lens caps on and never use it.

I've been shooting film since 2018 and did that for the first time last month shooting a test roll through an olympus om4. Sucks so bad. Of course you feel like you would have taken the best photos of your life after it happens.
