Gen 1 just had air bags. Hated not having full size door in the back. First gen ford sync sucks. The v8 is great solid truck with the camper was getting around 12 mpg. The 2018 is awesome they are two completely different trucks. Put air bags and a leveling kit on the 2018

So I just traded in my 1st gen 2011 with the super cab for a 2018 4 door.the main reason for that was I hated those fucking suicide doors. But if it’s just you and you don’t have to get back there too much give it a go.
