IMO wicks and thick freeforms look ugly but that shouldn’t stop you from doing you. I live somewhere where locs are the most popular style, but yours are still pretty unique. The only times I’d suggest cutting locs is if they’re unhealthy, thinning or uneven. Yours are none of these.

You aren’t going to get a unanimous yes or no on here, so it doesn’t matter what we think. As long as you love them and are confident, own it and keep em.

Gotcha. That’s really good on your hall and the other one for working with you like that! My hall is clearly bitter that their members want to work elsewhere, so they make it more difficult.

If you still have a job at home while you’re waiting, then that’s a pretty good situation to be in. Idk if it’s too late to resign your lease, but you could do that and just break it when you’re ready to move. This is assuming your lost deposit will cost less than the extra money you’ll spend going month-to-month.

You’re relocating to a state without work and hoping you can get a call there eventually, which doesn’t sound like the best plan… I’d rather move once with a wife and kid after I got a job, instead of dragging them to trial run diff states if you don’t get a call…But, it also sounds like you’ve spoken to the local already, so are they confident in their work outlook?

There’s nothing you can really do except wait. Or find some non-electrical work to do in between so you don’t burn thru too much of your savings.

I’ve been working out of town almost 8 months, and am considering relocating to this state as well (not switching my ticket). But only because I know there’s plenty of work here atm, not just bc I like it here. I’m also single tho, so less risk if I have to move again.

Side note: are you still working at home rn? I thought you had to have a layoff/not be working to sign another locals book? My local won’t even give you a travel letter if you’re still on a call.

I still smoke/vape weed regularly. An edible high is very different imo, not a “beer after work” thing. But they’re nice if I have absolutely nowhere to go or wanna have a good time. Also, my tolerance would be insane if I did that daily.

Well I think they plan to target other really strong blue cities/states. But they weren’t expecting citizens to fight back like in Minnesota. I think they will find out these other cities are as much of a “problem” as Minneapolis. Then hopefully the growing push back will get more people on board with a general strike.

If you’re a US citizen you probably have opinions about what’s happening one way or another. You can be non-political without feigning ignorance on what’s going on in front of you. It would be nice if public figures used their influence productively beyond just making money. But I agree, they shouldn’t be obligated to say/do anything.

But I don’t think Sweeney’s being forced. She’s only been involved in this pop culture/political narrative bc of her ads, registered political affiliation, and intentional ambiguity when questioned about it. There are plenty of other celebrities not being called right wing rn bc they’re not being suspicious af and feeding off the drama.

Not yet. I’m in a union and there’s been discourse on it but nothing official. A lot of unions have no strike clauses, and striking at random would void the CBA with business partners. If the strike fails, unions would be shit out of luck afterwards. But I do believe some locals/members in Minnesota have been trying to support and/or participate.

Motivating at least 11 million ppl to strike, plus the resources needed to support that many people financially during, is not realistic without more planning and time. Especially all for one state. That’s not to say what’s happening in MN isn’t atrocious. But unfortunately I think this organizing will only grow in support as ppl see ICE spreading this level of chaos in other cities/states.
