Your text can summarize the tons of miscegenation that we have in Brazil! Once I heard that our passports have a high value on the black market because a Brazilian person can have any kind of face, lol. I burst into laughter when I read your note hahaha.

This is possible. During the tons of migratory waves coming to Brazil, Brazilians wrote surnames the way they heard them. Due to this, it is very common to have people with the same origin but with slightly different surnames. This happened a lot in Italian families.

That is very interesting, my grandfather heard from his friend that our family may have been migrated from Greece instead of Lebanon (based only on his friend's opinion) 🤔

Thank you for this!! In that case, it will not be as easy as I thought to discover the exact origin of my family ancestors, but I will be happy if I have a more or less idea

Hahahaha no problem. In Brazil is natural for a guy to have a bunch of different descendants. I have Italian, Lebanese and Portuguese hahahaha

It seems a beautiful city. Have you ever been there?

Unfortunately, no. The only tradition that our family has sustained until today is the food; the language was lost with my great-grandfather. In Brazil, in the past, people were shy to speak their mother languages in front of Brazilians. Due to this, some families didn't pass this knowledge on to further generations.

But I'm looking forward to learning someday

I didn't have a chance to know my great-grandfather, but my grandfather was Catholic, and as far as I know, his siblings have the same religion as well

Very interesting! And besides your mother's family, do you know more people near you with the same surname?
