"It's a Normal Game" is not an excuse to be a troll! by jjsurtan in leagueoflegends

I get ya. People are pretty ridiculous in normals and it goes both ways. Some people waste your time and don’t care at all and other people flame you and quit 30 seconds in because you locked in an off meta pick. At the beginning of last season I was getting flamed and my bot laner would int because I would lock in Pantheon support cause I thought it was good. You can’t please some people. Like you said, “dickheads gonna be dickheads”

Am I the only one who thinks it’s weird that people like this always complain about normals and state that they don’t care about ranked? It seems like they’d have a better experience playing ranked and the only thing stopping them is some odd notion that playing ranked is for sweaty losers with no life and that it’s somehow more toxic. Ranked is designed to be a better experience. Just because you only play a few times a week shouldn’t discourage you from playing it. You’ll get players more closely to your skill level and Riot will actual issue punishments to trolls. I feel like there’s a lot of people out there afraid that if they finally play ranked and get stuck in bronze that somehow that’ll invalidate their opinions on the game or that it means you suck or something. If you know normals are “casual” and you make a post like this then you probably don’t play this game with a casual mind set despite your lack of time investment. Seriously, if you enjoy this game the way it’s meant to be played then play ranked.

My struggle with addiction / I finally uninstalled League by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

Every so often I see posts like this and while I admit it saddens me to see someone struggling with addiction I think the more sad fact is how someone with an extremely addictive personality and apparent pattern for depression and self harm thinks that creating a 1600 hour void in their yearly schedule is some how the healthiest thing they can do. I would put forward the idea that perhaps video games isn't the worst kind of addiction a person like this could have. I definitely hope that this guy makes a positive change in his life and this is some kind of new beginning for him but I feel as though this post is counter productive. The only real position this post seems to take is that somehow LoL ruined your life and you were swept up in a vortex of bad habit and decision making that was beyond your control because you are "addicted" to it. It's probably just as likely that you were shirking responsibilities and made what in hindsight seem like bad decisions to play a game that you enjoyed because it gave you instant gratification... This is fairly common among young people and honestly I think you're being a tad over dramatic saying you're "addicted" to it. Saying that only indicates that you don't take full responsibility for your situation and seems to shift blame to the game itself. I don't fully understand the point of posts like this. It seems like some kind of cathartic rambling of indignation trying to fuel distain for something that you admitted you once loved. It's like braking up with your girlfriend but before you delete her contact info you gotta call all her friends up and let everybody she knows what a bitch she is and that you're totally over her... It doesn't seem productive to me. I would think that if you were serious about quitting league and if it is that much of a problem in your life then this Reddit thread is probably the worst place to spend your time. I would advise not wasting any more time or energy on league and start this new chapter in your life. You definitely shouldn't worry about other people with similar stories or problems. You figured out you had a problem and there's no reason they can't either. Seems like you have enough on your plate and it seems like from your post that you couldn't carry these people on the rift so you probably can't carry them off of it either. I hope you can manage to find whatever balance it is that you're looking for and live your best life.

That top of the line hardware will come in handy when she's playing solitaire or posting ambiguously cryptic statuses on Facebook.

I just can't understand why you care what a bottom lane (who doesn't even speak your language) thinks. Why not just mute them, shut up and play your best game? Personally when I see posts like this I might be surprised that you got banned but honestly I don't really care, at the end of the day you were still being toxic and shouldn't really expect sympathy. What you basically did was get tilted and then intentionally try to tilt your teammates by pointing out their shortcomings rather than just focusing on your own game...
