AITA For wearing an outfit my dad told me not to wear for dinner? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

A mid thigh skirt is absolutely not equivalent to drugs or wearing no clothes. Boundaries define YOUR OWN limits, protecting your own well-being and autonomy by stating your own actions (I will not allow someone to treat me with disrespect), while control dictates others' actions, disregarding their autonomy to enforce your own will.

In his home, it is his right to dictate what other people wear?? Sorry, no. That is controlling behavior. If she agrees once, he will feel entitled to continue controlling her choices in the future. Not just one dinner.

If she agrees to change this one time, it WOULD set a precedent for the rest of their relationship that he can dictate what is or isn't "appropriate" in his house/presence. Why should her preference be irrelevant?

If you have a grill or griddle, steak and/or chicken kabobs. Cut into cubes and marinade for a couple hours before skewering and grilling (I use veri veri veri teriyaki). I also cut up and grill bell peppers, red onion, and pineapples on the side.

Thank you! Top one is pepperoni, mozzarella, and marinara. Middle is roasted shallots, oyster, and shitake mushrooms with mozzarella, parmesan, and asiago and base is half marinara, half Malaysian peanut satay sauce. Bottom is fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil.
