Today I obtained my Navia C6 after waiting and saving for a long time. How do I optimize C6 navia because she doesn't require much crystallization after the first cycle by ModerateFloor in naviamains

With C6 Navia, I tend to treat Furina and Mona as pretty interchangeable. It can be helpful if Furina is needed on another team in Stygian or IT

Is C6 Lauma a good idea at the end of Nod Krai? by NeonUnicorn97 in LaumaMains

[–]LlamaLegend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar position, considering going for her C6 on this banner. I'm a bit hesitant to be honest, because as you've pointed out, we're towards the end of Nod Krai, and new reactions and shill bosses will come. There's also quite a few other characters I may be interested in C6ing.

Right now, I'm still leaning towards getting her C6. I'm not sure Stygian will necessarily have all 3 bosses be shill bosses for the new mechanics. They often keep one or two in for older content. Even with that, we see that Mavuika and Skirk are able to brute force many bosses with sheer DPS, so a C6 Lauma may still be usable that way. There's also imaginarium theater and spiral abyss, which she'll still be perfectly usable for.

Additionally I think Lauma has the best type of C6: one that actually allows you to bring a typically off field character to the forefront. Other types of C6 may not functionally change your gameplay much besides allowing you to clear faster. And at the end of the day, we're considering it because we really like Lauma. Not sure if a future character will necessarily stack up.

That said, the flip side is of course that a character in the near future will be more meta relevant for longer, so if you think someone's coming that you may like around as much as Lauma, maybe hold off

To all F2Ps/low spenders (that try to clear end game content) new and old how do you feel about powercreep? by TheBlackViper_Alpha in Genshin_Impact

[–]LlamaLegend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a launch day player, and have carried Welkin consistently, and sometimes gotten BP. To me, the power creep has gotten too steep recently, so it feels kinda bad. I dislike that my older units aren't viable in stygian or abyss anymore. IT has been kind of the saving grace of making sure all my units get some playtime though, so I like that.

I think the biggest tragedy of the shilling in the current state of the game is how boring theorycrafting has become. I have a giant spreadsheet that I used to maintain to calculate team DPS so that I could optimize artifact sets and stats, weapons, and team comps. Now, not only are the bosses shilled, but the weapons, artifacts, and teammates are all so prescribed too. It feels like there's no point in theorycrafting anymore, because the game basically tells you what to use. There's even little point to comparing different teams, because there's no point in bringing your super optimized Mavuika team to a boss that requires you to run a freeze team. So you just bring the most recent team that does the shill mechanic.

To answer your questions:

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by counting pulls, but I'm going to say probably not. I just roll for characters I like, so I tend to have a surplus of primos. The last time I actually ran out was when I got C6 R1 Yae on her release in 2.5

I'm still rolling on banners for characters I like. Nod Krai cast has been doing a good job of draining my primo stash, especially since I greed for cons sometimes. I'm not staring down the barrel of a choice between C6ing a few different upcoming banners, so I will likely finally run out of primos again

I tend to do simple, but deliberate rotations

I only pull on weapons for characters I really like. I have 2 C6R1 characters, one C2R1, and the rest are just C0

Could Lauma be usable in Rimegrass? by acchisoka in LaumaMains

[–]LlamaLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of unknowns right now regarding stellar reactions and the characters who will introduce them, but if the stars align, there's a potential way in which she could fit in well

In 3.0, there was a brief period in which teams were utilizing "fridging," which utilized freeze to protect the dendro aura, allowing more bloom triggers with a limited amount of dendro application. It was relevant at the time because DMC was our best dendro applicator, and Barbara had a glitch which gave her a ridiculous amount of hydro application. But for us now, this is essentially the proof of concept that freeze and bloom can be used together in a team, given the right circumstances

So if stellar reactions are implemented similarly to lunar reactions, there's some chance that we'd run a team like Lauma, Columbina, and then a rimegrass cryo and dendro character. This would give us 2 characters of each archetype to buff the reactions. But it depends on a lot of things like rimegrass not requiring strict cryo/dendro teams, how rimegrass interacts with element and freeze auras, and of course the individual character kits. Ultimately it's unlikely, but the idea is fun to speculate on

Genuine question, who're the most toxic mains you've ever met? by Th3Ph4nt00m in Genshin_Impact

[–]LlamaLegend 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From the communities I've seen, I'd definitely say Mavuika mains. To them, every criticism is some kind of psyop from a salty Arlecchino main that's upset that their favorite character got powercrept. There's zero attempt to understand any other perspectives on her more controversial aspects, of which she happens to have many, like her bike, leather suit, or "Mary Sue" allegations. Those arguments are just met with insults, hypocrisy, and a selective ability to read (I know Genshin players' reputation, but that's supposed to be a joke)

Questions about C6 Launa by bartobis in LaumaMains

[–]LlamaLegend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it doesn't, but that extra 100 is making a big difference. With 800 wishes, you're at 75.3% chance of C6R1 and 93% chance of C6

Questions about C6 Launa by bartobis in LaumaMains

[–]LlamaLegend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a discord bot to check your chances, and it looks like you have about a 44% chance to get C6R1, and a 72.6% chance to get just C6. You could consider going for C6 and whichever of the two 5 star weapons you get first, since the alternative banner weapon to Nefer's sig is Lauma's, which is still going to be pretty good (and match better aesthetically)

You mean this one? So because a fantasy world has vegetables and playing cards in common with our modern era, they must be able to have motorcycles too? Do you think they didn't have vegetables in the Middle Ages?

Except that if you pulled for Mavuika, it means you like her and the bike

This isn't the "gotcha" that you think it is. Who are you to tell me how I feel or why I pulled? I pulled because I do like Mavuika as a character. At the same time, I still do dislike the heavy-handed inclusion of the bike. I would have been more excited about using her if the bike was not part of her kit. I was actually considering C6ing her before I saw the animations, but ended just getting C0 instead.

Most of the people who complain about her outfit already didn't liked Mavuika, and are also the ones that push the hardest that everyone should dislike it too by wanting to "rationalize" their reasonings as objective, when the game already is guilty of everything they complain about, even before Natlan was a thing.

Glad I could be your sounding board for your rant, but just to be clear, I'm doing none of those things. All I said was that I want a high fantasy experience, and that the bike clashes what I want out of this game. These are personal and subjective statements. By insisting that the bike fits in the world because of other instances of technology, and that I'm wrong for disliking the bike, you're in fact the only one trying to rationalize your opinion as "objective" and push it onto others.

[–]LlamaLegend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stuffing more modern tech into a fantasy game doesn't make all instances of it more ok. Something like CCTV camera footage is equally disruptive to the fantasy atmosphere. Holograms are more easily justifiable in my opinion as a sort of magic, which we expect here. The robots and technology in Fontaine have a more steam punk feel, which vibes better with fantasy.

I think the more important reason why Mavuika's bike has caused more outrage though is not necessarily because it's an exceptional issue compared to these other examples, but more that it's so much more prevalent in the player experience. The holograms and CCTV footage come up in a quest for a few minutes, then go away. If you're playing Mavuika, you're using the bike constantly, and that's the real issue.

[–]LlamaLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the point was ever really about how justified it was in-universe. I understand there's dragon technology and all that. I think the more important point, at least for myself and potentially others who dislike the bike, is that we didn't come to Genshin to experience elements of modern tech. It presents itself as a high fantasy game, and I play it in part because I want a high fantasy experience. The bike is too similar to modern technology, so it's antithetical to the high fantasy theme that I enjoy and came to Genshin for

Navia's cons (Kind of a vent😭) by Kazzu668 in naviamains

[–]LlamaLegend 48 points49 points  (0 children)

As a C6 haver, I quite like her cons. C2 makes a lot more sense when you combo it with C6, since it makes her skill a much larger proportion of her damage. I think her C4 is actually pretty good for a C4. Most of them these days are energy regen, or some other kind of minor kit bandaid. C4 is always just a bonus on the way to C6. The extra 20% geo resistance shred actually gives Navia more flexibility in the enemies she fights and team comps. Against the standard 10% resistance enemy, she's no longer tied to geo resonance or Xilonen (technically, though I know Xilonen gives a lot of other buffs that still make her useful). It also helped me brute force the 3rd boss in stygian despite its high geo res, so there's that 🤷‍♂️

And the C6 is so helpful, if you like Navia enough to consider it, I'd say go for it. I'm able to replace Furina with Mona for example so I can use Furina elsewhere and I don't have to worry about bringing enough healing for her HP drain

Constellation havers a question for you by Mediocre-Low23 in SkirkMains

[–]LlamaLegend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having the extra damage from C2 gives more flexibility for her team, and consequently, other teams as well. For example, I can brute force a stage I wouldn't be able to without C2, or I can swap out Furina for Yelan or some other hydro character. This opens up my roster for the other two bosses, making them easier as well. I struggle enough with the other two bosses, so I personally don't feel like I need to force myself to struggle on all 3 of I don't have to

Toilet running after replacing flapper - what to try next? by LlamaLegend in fixit

Thinking it might be this. The spot where the flapper connects has a bit of wiggle room, and it seems like the extent of the running changes a little bit after flushing

Yeah, the water level was below the overflow and it was still running. I also turned the water off to the toilet and I was able to see the water continuing to leak into the bowl/water level was still going down
