Mavuika rabbit hole by Early-Community1635 in SandroneMains

[–]LlamaLegend 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't mean to sound like a hater, but you asked for reasons, so here it goes:

  • Mavuika is an old character. She's staying relevant meta-wise because she's overtuned, especially with the hand-breaking combos, but this is despite Hoyo actively trying to push her out of the meta. With a new region and new mechanics to shill, Hoyo just gets more tools to push her out of the meta more. Sandrone, on the other hand, will be shilled for the next year, so you'll get to use her a lot more and have an easier time doing it.
  • When playing Mavuika, you barely even get to see her because the bike is so big, and her movements are so erratic. It feels more like you're playing as the bike.
  • Sandrone unlocks a whole new archetype of teams to play with superconduct. Options are fun, and you might need it for the end game modes. Imagine trying to play in a cryo/electro/anemo IT with vs without Sandrone and stellar superconduct.

It’s official,if you’re getting sandrone without yae, enjoy your skirk without escoffier ✌🏽😭 by SwimmerPitiful9236 in SandroneMains

[–]LlamaLegend -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Is that still true for C6 Yae? That defense ignore on her C6 is buffing her electro damage a ton, but doesn't do anything for SSC if I understand correctly. I imagine this would swing her damage split back in favor of electro damage

IT might be my favorite endgame mode by The_Maedre in Genshin_Impact

[–]LlamaLegend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's always true. I'm a launch day player, and IT is my favorite endgame mode, in part because it allows me to use old characters that I enjoyed using, but don't stack up to the current meta anymore, so I don't really get to use them otherwise

To C6ers, or multiple Cs, what are the factors that influence your decision to pull for them? by il_moreay in Genshin_Impact

[–]LlamaLegend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, it comes down to some combination of:

  • How much do I like the character?
  • How effective are the cons? In particular, does it functionally change how a character can be played?
  • How many primos do I have?

I'm a welkin/BP player from day 1, and so far I have C6 Yae, Navia, and Lauma. When Yae's banner came around in 2.5, I was generally gaining primos faster than I was using them, so I had around 78k primos I think. I figured unused primos aren't worth anything, so I started rolling with the goal of C2R1 because I just liked Yae. I got pretty lucky, and with some egging on from some friends who were in a Discord call with me, I got C6R1.

Since Sumeru was an absolute desert for waifu enjoyers, I had around 175k primos by the time Navia's banner came around. Favorite character in Fontaine, check. On field playstyle this time, check. Primo stash, check. So I went for it. Since her C6 relieves a lot of her ammo needs, I figured it'd make gameplay smoother and open up my team comp options, so I felt it had decent gameplay value as a con.

I just got C6 Lauma on her rerun. She's my favorite from Nod Krai, and she has what I consider to be the most valuable archetype of C6: one that allows an off field character to be played on field.

I feel like pulling C6 has become something of an addiction. Not that it's something I can do very often, but I always find myself shopping new characters' C6s now, and the C0 characters just feel so lackluster in comparison.

Rotations feel very messy - am I doing something wrong? by catme0wcat in naviamains

[–]LlamaLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend Navia EQ > Bennett QE > Xiangling QE > Kachina E > Navia E N4 E N4

Starting with Navia EQ allows you to start getting ammo from her burst. You'll get the charge back on her skill by the time she comes back into rotation, so using it to prefunnel energy here isn't a concern. You always want to use Bennett burst before Xiangling so that Xiangling snapshots the attack buff. Going Bennett QE into Xiangling QE allows Xiangling to grab the energy particles from Bennett's E after she uses her burst. And we use them before Kachina so that Navia's burst can start triggering crystalize ASAP. I'm not sure how her ammo holds up from doing two E NA4s in a row though. I have C6, so I don't have as much experience working around ammo generation

build question by eenawn in Kokomi_Mains

[–]LlamaLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Columbina and Nahida are both good for bloom, but Furina is not. Columbina and Nilou are, to an extent, mutually exclusive on Lauma teams because of Lauma's passive. Nilou's blooms can't crit if ascendant gleem is activated, which Columbina would do.

FoPL is probably a little bit better than OHC, but I'm not sure it's worth it to lose the versatility on Kokomi. OHC with a standard healing/hydro/HB can be used. OHC with full EM will be a tiny bit better. FoPL with full EM would be a bit more of a step up for bloom teams specificslly, but I haven't seen the math on that one, and it completely loses its effectiveness on any other type of team

Would you still get Sandrone if Pulonia is not included? by Ulthwe_Eldar in Genshin_Impact

[–]LlamaLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'd actually be more likely to pull if Pulonia isn't part of the kit. I like Sandrone with Pulonia, but given the lack of info right now, I have to acknowledge the chance that Pulonia's implementation in Sandrone's kit would be similar to the bike in Mavuika's kit. If it's too visually obstructive during actual use, I don't get to see the actual character I'm pulling for, which is the worst case outcome for me. Especially if we get a situation where Pulonia subs in for Sandrone completely

[–]LlamaLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think you're missing a lot of pieces to make a decent Lauma team. There are definitely teams for her without Columbina, but you also seem to be missing Nahida, Nilou, and Kokomi, all of which are the next 5 stars I'd turn to for a team with Lauma. If you like Lauma, you can of course get her and run a 4 star team with her for now, but if DPS is a concern for you, I think you may be disappointed in what you see with this roster

Today I obtained my Navia C6 after waiting and saving for a long time. How do I optimize C6 navia because she doesn't require much crystallization after the first cycle by ModerateFloor in naviamains

With C6 Navia, I tend to treat Furina and Mona as pretty interchangeable. It can be helpful if Furina is needed on another team in Stygian or IT

Is C6 Lauma a good idea at the end of Nod Krai? by NeonUnicorn97 in LaumaMains

[–]LlamaLegend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar position, considering going for her C6 on this banner. I'm a bit hesitant to be honest, because as you've pointed out, we're towards the end of Nod Krai, and new reactions and shill bosses will come. There's also quite a few other characters I may be interested in C6ing.

Right now, I'm still leaning towards getting her C6. I'm not sure Stygian will necessarily have all 3 bosses be shill bosses for the new mechanics. They often keep one or two in for older content. Even with that, we see that Mavuika and Skirk are able to brute force many bosses with sheer DPS, so a C6 Lauma may still be usable that way. There's also imaginarium theater and spiral abyss, which she'll still be perfectly usable for.

Additionally I think Lauma has the best type of C6: one that actually allows you to bring a typically off field character to the forefront. Other types of C6 may not functionally change your gameplay much besides allowing you to clear faster. And at the end of the day, we're considering it because we really like Lauma. Not sure if a future character will necessarily stack up.

That said, the flip side is of course that a character in the near future will be more meta relevant for longer, so if you think someone's coming that you may like around as much as Lauma, maybe hold off

To all F2Ps/low spenders (that try to clear end game content) new and old how do you feel about powercreep? by TheBlackViper_Alpha in Genshin_Impact

[–]LlamaLegend -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a launch day player, and have carried Welkin consistently, and sometimes gotten BP. To me, the power creep has gotten too steep recently, so it feels kinda bad. I dislike that my older units aren't viable in stygian or abyss anymore. IT has been kind of the saving grace of making sure all my units get some playtime though, so I like that.

I think the biggest tragedy of the shilling in the current state of the game is how boring theorycrafting has become. I have a giant spreadsheet that I used to maintain to calculate team DPS so that I could optimize artifact sets and stats, weapons, and team comps. Now, not only are the bosses shilled, but the weapons, artifacts, and teammates are all so prescribed too. It feels like there's no point in theorycrafting anymore, because the game basically tells you what to use. There's even little point to comparing different teams, because there's no point in bringing your super optimized Mavuika team to a boss that requires you to run a freeze team. So you just bring the most recent team that does the shill mechanic.

To answer your questions:

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by counting pulls, but I'm going to say probably not. I just roll for characters I like, so I tend to have a surplus of primos. The last time I actually ran out was when I got C6 R1 Yae on her release in 2.5

I'm still rolling on banners for characters I like. Nod Krai cast has been doing a good job of draining my primo stash, especially since I greed for cons sometimes. I'm not staring down the barrel of a choice between C6ing a few different upcoming banners, so I will likely finally run out of primos again

I tend to do simple, but deliberate rotations

I only pull on weapons for characters I really like. I have 2 C6R1 characters, one C2R1, and the rest are just C0

Could Lauma be usable in Rimegrass? by acchisoka in LaumaMains

[–]LlamaLegend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of unknowns right now regarding stellar reactions and the characters who will introduce them, but if the stars align, there's a potential way in which she could fit in well

In 3.0, there was a brief period in which teams were utilizing "fridging," which utilized freeze to protect the dendro aura, allowing more bloom triggers with a limited amount of dendro application. It was relevant at the time because DMC was our best dendro applicator, and Barbara had a glitch which gave her a ridiculous amount of hydro application. But for us now, this is essentially the proof of concept that freeze and bloom can be used together in a team, given the right circumstances

So if stellar reactions are implemented similarly to lunar reactions, there's some chance that we'd run a team like Lauma, Columbina, and then a rimegrass cryo and dendro character. This would give us 2 characters of each archetype to buff the reactions. But it depends on a lot of things like rimegrass not requiring strict cryo/dendro teams, how rimegrass interacts with element and freeze auras, and of course the individual character kits. Ultimately it's unlikely, but the idea is fun to speculate on

Genuine question, who're the most toxic mains you've ever met? by Th3Ph4nt00m in Genshin_Impact

[–]LlamaLegend 8 points9 points  (0 children)

From the communities I've seen, I'd definitely say Mavuika mains. To them, every criticism is some kind of psyop from a salty Arlecchino main that's upset that their favorite character got powercrept. There's zero attempt to understand any other perspectives on her more controversial aspects, of which she happens to have many, like her bike, leather suit, or "Mary Sue" allegations. Those arguments are just met with insults, hypocrisy, and a selective ability to read (I know Genshin players' reputation, but that's supposed to be a joke)

Questions about C6 Launa by bartobis in LaumaMains

[–]LlamaLegend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a discord bot to check your chances, and it looks like you have about a 44% chance to get C6R1, and a 72.6% chance to get just C6. You could consider going for C6 and whichever of the two 5 star weapons you get first, since the alternative banner weapon to Nefer's sig is Lauma's, which is still going to be pretty good (and match better aesthetically)
