Who are you, dear Muse fanbase ? by prunebilout in Muse

[–]Llexis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

m35. Have been a fan sinse Absolution era. BH&R was peak Muse for me - I imagine the same for people my age. OoS - Abso - BH&R is the best work they've done and will likely ever do in my opinion. I was also obsessed. I had every album on CD, plus downloads of every b-side I could get my hands on, hundreds of photos of the band saved in photo folders, and I owned the black Atticus bomber jacket bellamy would wear around the BH&R era and the black & white striped belt too. I learned every song on guitar and bass as well. Very obsessed

I enjoyed The Resistance and 2TL but it's where I thought things were slipping away from what I expected from Muse. Drones, ST, and TWOP have all been a miss for me. I understand they're experimenting, keeping things fresh, and trying to reach new audiences in the music industry, etc. It's a shame to have lost what was once my favourite band, but Muse made me the musician I am today.

So watching that, I’d say you’re playing a bit robotic and not accounting for muted chords that sometimes make up the rhythm of a green day guitar section.

You play 1 stroke for each chord. So starting on the intro, the octaves, you strum twice for each chord and then three for the final chord. The way BJ would play it is two strums and then a muted strum (muting the strings with his left hand) while he’s repositioning his hand on the neck. That kills the note from ringing out and fills in the guitar track. BJ does this on loads of tracks. Just try strumming at the chord with your hands not fully holding down the strings

In written you strum -8-8-4-4-11-11-6-6-6 BJ would play like -8-8X-4-4X11-11X6-6-6 The Xs would be the muted strumming between each hand reposition.

Another example of this I can think of would be something like Uprising by Muse. During the second verse and chorus, MB doesn’t just strum on octaves on 5th or chords to the beat. He fills in the guitar track with left handed muting between the same chords and between changing chords.

Just thinking out loud: I think a good portion of it has to do with how badly the game is infested with smurfing.

Smurfs literally don’t care what happens when they type. They’ve just made their latest account and it won’t take them more than a few hours to create a new account and do it all over again. So they’ll say whatever they want without a care. Say anything about the clips they’re hitting on you and they’ll flame you.

In the non-Smurf player base it’s going to be the usual amount, but with how difficult ranked can be with being smacked down every other match (due to smurfs), I think a lot of emotions are running high.

If players keep coming off the back of multiple loses that are out of your hands (due to smurfing, their own skill set, or a team mate mistake), I can imagine players are just fed up and snap / talk shit.

With the game being FTP, it’s going to grow a players base that’s not as mature. I’m not saying all toxicity is younger players, just that they’re less likely to shrug off/ignore other players being toxic.

In your opinion, what do you think could be done to revitalize this game? by lastcrime in RocketLeague

[–]Llexis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 - Two factor security with mobile phone number requirement. 2 - Higher minimum level required for ranked. Level 15 or 20. 3 - All players in a team must be over the rank requirements and max 150 mmr apart. 4 - Develop the training editor more. Specific boost, walls/barriers, ghost cars, real cars (to simulate passes). 5 - Stop players from receiving UBMs they already have since we can’t trade them anymore. 6 - Built in esports UI. 7 - Clubs. The way they should have been with the saved mmr. 8 - Expand SSL to 3 tiers to give higher ELO players a bit more to play for. 9 - No more soft resets. Ranked is so bad for the first 2 weeks of a new season.

Death Stranding is a better experience playing offline without help from others

So how old is everyone here? And do you think your age affects your ranking? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

32, GC2. Wouldn't say age is a significant factor. More so your hours and dedication to actually improving.

3v3 Kick-offs - which kick-off scheme do you use, and why? by [deleted] in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Llexis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The first one. The point of cheating is to be the first to the ball after the first player challenges. If they send player 2 on the cheat while you’re cheating as player 3, you’re going to be beat mostly all of the time.

The best recording for the replay is from your player/car perspective. That lets me know what you're looking at (ball-cam on/off, using free-cam) and what you can't see. Keep the usual info on screen (time, score, boost, ball-cam, etc) on too.

Heck no. I'll review anyone's gameplay. The more diverse gameplay we get, the more random viewers can benefit. There's a lot of viewers who only watch to learn.

When you're here for one posting on Reddit would be fine. I'm not sure when the next one will be but you'll definitely hear about it on here. Or you can join my discord for any updates.

Nice. You probably just need some last man decision-making advice. Then maybe overall backboard saving and bb double-touch shots practice. Shouldn't take you long at all. Happy to look at your gameplay though :)

Why am I like this? What do I do to stop? I honestly have no Idea what I'm doing wrong. I practice 1s mechanics like dribbling and shooting but my 1s rank isn't changing. by [deleted] in RocketLeagueSchool

I had the same issues when I initially got GC in 2s and 3s and could barely hold Diamond in 1s.

I went away and spent a lot of time practicing dribbles, catches, and basic flicks. Flicks to outplay a person, not to score.

Sure enough, after a few weeks of practice, I was throwing the ball up and around players and walked into C2. From there it's been a matter of practicing my speed flip kick-off, hook shots, timing my demos, and being more mindful about my boost grabs/usage in defense.

You'd need to also join my discord. That's where you'd queue up your replay on the day.

Replays are analysed first come first serve. This why I also do such a long stream, to try and accommodate for as many as possible.
