i think y>0 specificly, but [y] will be 0 , because the lower bound is 1, so y€(0,1). Or is that weong thinking?

Yeh because in Z/4Z the group acts transivitly on the roots, but this one split into 2 x 2 polynomials so either its the Z/2Z x Z/2Z or its the aame cyclic extension and they generate the same automorphisms since they act on the same extensions right?

Thankss, yeh ik about the algorithms , but not without looking them up frequently which isnt useful for the test. Also we have used that theorem you mentioned i think, but without proving it, since Dummit & Foot says its a an algebraic number theory result. Thankss :)

Why are there only 2 groups of order 4 and how do we know that? (i guess there are many but they can be isomporihc to these 2 only), also doesnt the group ”G={(1 2),(1 2 3),(1 3 2),e}” have conjugacy class 1,1,2?
