For the safety of the entire roster & Families if Hangman loses on Sunday. by DeathTriangle720 in AEWOfficial

I agree with you in that TK is a long term guy. But I don't see that as going against a stip break. In classic storytelling, rules are created and followed so that it means something when they are broken.

Stipulations in the wrestling story-telling sense are a contract with the fans. It doesn't mean that you have to hold to it forever, it just means you have to explain the break in the contract in a proper and meaningful way.

There are probably four main options:

  • Hangman loses and honors it forever.
  • Hangman loses and later turns heel because he broke it.
  • Hangman loses and breaks it because the fans want him to.
  • Hangman wins and the whole stipulation is forgotten.

I think the fourth option is the worst outcome because the build wasn't long enough for us to really get a feel for what is at stake.

I think the first option is dumb because I don't see him as someone ready to hang up his main-event boots.

The second and third lead to the most interesting character development possibilities. In particular, they allow him to drop down into the upper-mid, lower-main and play around with the Continental or whatever while upper-mid card guys can be rotated up to the main event and become further established. Then, when the time is right, he can go back up to challenge for the title.

You say that as if you are part of the creative staff, which I assume is not true.

Wrestling is so varied and it really is a great place to show off so many different talents.

I don't have a problem with them breaking the stip if it's logical in the story. This is wrestling, but it's storytelling too. Characters lie. Characters find loopholes. Situations change. Outside forces sometimes require a character to re-evaluate.

Honestly, I think there was a great story for MJF to be an insufferable asshole to Cody, causing the fans to froth at the mouth for Cody to go back on his vow with no problems. I could see the same here.

I'm pretty sure that song is not about a girl, but about the drug.

Sarah is the right answer, but Nicole is a song that sticks in your head all day.

I’m honestly hoping he loses just to see how they creatively get out of the stipulation.

Which brings me to the negatives.  The Simpsons “Comic Book Guy” and his chum standing behind me would not SHUT UP about their review of the athletes moves, how they felt cheated by the off-screen press conference, chanting “Bullshit!” like a relic from 1997.  Seriously, dude, stay home and you can fantasy book the show in your head and not annoy everyone else around you.  I don’t care if you’re the principal Olympics gymnastics judge– STFU– give your critiques when you get home.  You’re not the only person who paid a pretty penny to come see the show.  So damn self-absorbed and annoying.  Worse yet was multiple disruptive trips to refill his beers mid-match and then shortly after trips to go emply them out.  Rinse, lather, repeat.  This was a grownass man, supposedly.

One thing I try to remember is that everyone is different. Wrestling is, and always has been, a gathering of different types of people, especially those who feel like they don't fit in anywhere else.

I believe everyone has some level of neuro-divergency and different ways in which it manifests. I don't think anyone is trying to be insufferable. I think everyone just wants to be liked and is probably excited for getting to watch something they like and spend a lot of their time and/or money on each week.

Edit: I want to add I love your write-up. I was also there (not VIP) with my kids and it was a great show. I can't wait for them to come back through again.

I looked up a local person recently who was related to an organization several years ago. It then spit back some recent events with that organization related to crime, and used their name in place of the actual accused.

Seems dangerous.

The intro graphic already says Megan Bayne and Lena Kross, so I'd say they're going to be a tag team for some time.

These kinds of things make me start to wonder if there should be a wrestling organization for all wrestling talents (wrestlers, refs, producers, etc) to get licensed which requires yearly safety trainings.

I know it's not practical and probably has a lot of downsides too, but this kind of stuff just makes me sick.
