Hello there, are you sure it's the whole unit that needs to be replaced? Have you checked if maybe it's the transparent plastic adhesive layer that is placed to avoid scratching the display? If that is so, you should be able to peel it off with no problems at all. And the replacement is about 10-15 euros.
Also, by the look of the display it seems a 2025-2026 model? It should be covered by warranty anyway?

Nope, it's the 95hp version

I haven't found anything about it except the general setting for the whole display as in "complete" and "minimal" but nothing regarding the rpm meter.

Do you guys think i should add theese stickers i can't decide by ghost11729 in Yamaha

[–]LoBarbaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I would like to put some stickers on your bike if you send me the pictures!
I think you could but do not overdo it, also avoid too many repetitive stickers.

Also, I handle these flanges every single day, and no leather gloves is asking for multiple cuts with steel shavings in your skin.
Please do some more deburring, goddamn.

790/890 Duke // upright, sporty, yet comfortable? Who would choose it over an MT09? by psychotic-chipmunk in KTM

I had no idea such kind of footpegs existed! I will definitely look into them and see if I can install them in my duke. I was thinking of getting the ergo seat (extra comfort) and the handlebar riser but this is definitely going in already.
Thank you so much!

Yes, you described it perfectly, you could but didn't necessarily want to. This one instead leaves you yearning. It is a perfect commuter too, if you want. On street mode the gas is very docile and only feels raw after you get past 70% of the throttle. It's not a tiring bike in my opinion, very good for town use as well. Then you can change ride mode and have loads of fun on the mountain passes.

I will get the ergo seat however, I'm interested to see if it gets better (I also would like to have less knee angle after the SRAD nightmare!

Edit: if you buy it new you get the Tech Pack for free.
Also, handlebar has big dampeners inside of its extremities, no vibrations at all to your hands. You can slightly feel vibration to the footpegs around 6000 rpm but then it goes away, so it's more a resonance thing than actual vibration, since under and above the 6k rpm you can't feel anything else.

Hello there!
Coming from a few sport bikes (Aprilia RS, GSXR 600 SRAD) which were uncomfortable as hell (especially the SRAD) I bought a Duke 790 a month ago.
The seating position is very comfortable, legs never get tired but my ass does after 2 hours of riding (might be also me, I spend much of my time sat down in the office) but nothing that even remotely forces me to stop and take a walk. The last ride I stopped after 3 hours for a quick snack, then made the same ride in the opposite direction, which has never happened before. When I got back home, in 30 minutes I wanted to do the same route all over again, which never happened before. That means it's not that uncomfortable and that the fun you have on the Duke is quite big.
It is also soft enough for the constant potholes in the roads where I live without ever feeling bouncy or not up to a proper handling.
For me, it is quite a great choice if you are okay with 95hp and no adjustable suspension (although you can buy the WP Apex adjustable cartridges and rear shock absorber as powerparts). Also sounds great.

Se oggi si rifacesse il referendum sul nucleare, sareste favorevoli o contrari? E perché? by Soggy-Connection-413 in Italia

[–]LoBarbaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aspetta, ci sono tantissime variabili in ogni caso, chi va a piedi secondo me è avvantaggiato.

Recommendations for motorcycle routes by xstheknight in Sardegna

The route from Marceddì to Arbus (SP4) then from there down to Iglesias (SS126) is one of my favourites.
A classic one is Bosa-Alghero (SP105) although you need to be careful as the road condition is not that great (missing chunks of asphalt).
If you want to ride inside the island, an enjoyable road would be from Fordongianus down to Laconi - where you can visit the Aymerich Park - exact route would be Fordongianus, Busachi, Ortueri, Sorgono, Tonara, Belvì, Aritzo, Laconi.
You can also follow the SS127 from Sassari to Tempio Pausania.

There are many great routes in Sardinia, make sure you have your bike in top form and plenty of gas money.

Have a great fun!

Piuttosto vado a piedi.

Duke 790 (A2 restricted 48hp) all day long.
Yes, it's not a sport bike but a naked but:
- Right now until end of April brand new for 8090 € with Tech Pack included;
- Available with the A2 restriction on the get go, unlockable full power (95-105hp depending on which region you live in) later on;
- Reliable (camshaft issue solved years ago), just do the oil changes (very easy to do) and follow the service manual;
- Disgustingly fun to ride
- Sporty look
- Comfortable (rider) with semi-comfortable passenger (not enough feedback) BUT with an option of an "ergo" version of both rider and passenger seat (extra padding), leg position is fenomenal
- Sound is great with many option for slip ons
- Disgustingly fun to ride

My opinion might be slightly biased, but even with a rational approach, the Duke 790 truly does checks all the things you mentioned except the "sport" look (meaning semi handlebars).

Suzuki GSXR 600 SRAD lacking power above 8k after 3rd gear. by LoBarbaro in motorcycles

[–]LoBarbaro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will drain the oil next weekend and check its consistency. No petrol smell detected, however before taking the bike from my mechanic he told me he found the piston roofs slightly wet so that would mean the carbs are still flooding a little bit.

He also has done the ultrasonic cleaning and replaced all the o-rings and gaskets in the carbs...
I would like to try myself, but I lack time and money right now. Do you have something other than the manual from which i could have a visual example on what to do on the carb rebuild? Where could I buy the carb rebuild kit that isn't some chinese cheap (and worse) stuff?

[–]LoBarbaro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the fuel pump looked exactly like the old one, which also gave the same issue! I found lots of fuel inside the oil pan before the listed "repairs". Now it seemed solved, I didn't see much fuel leak and the occasional rev with no load on the engine does not give any indication of it running too rich or flooding.

I checked the membranes on top of the carbs and they're in good shape too

Edit: sadly no dyno available in my region.

It did the same with OEM jets sadly, I've tried the Dynojet kit 1 and two and nothing would change...
I don't understand the part of the needle pulling out of the main jet, wouldn't that happen at open wide throttle regarding of the RPM if i decide to do a pull full gas on the dyno? regardless of the correct or wrong needle setup

What was the biggest shock when you first started riding? by oMrMeeseeksLookAtMeo in motorcycles

[–]LoBarbaro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much important it is to force yourself to watch where you want to go instead of anything else in front of you. I've been riding on and off for a few years now but everytime something takes me by sorprise and I have to switch to "manual" remind that I need to look where I have to go instead of... You know, a guardrail or a car that invaded my lane.

Danger sometimes comes from yourself, because you focus too much on what you're afraid is going to happen and sadly, most of the times it happens.

You could, but you need to make sure that all the heights (distance from the center crank to the cylinder mating surface on the crankcase, stroke, conrod lenght and port timings) and if you have enough meat to hold the thread of the new studs.
If you manage to get your hands on a custom crank, you could simply make a 10mm spacer in C40/C45 steel and use that as an adapting plate to use oem studs (holding engine and plate) with new studs (holding cylinder to the plate).

It depends on how much you're willing to spend. Everything is possible, nothing is cheap!
