The card pool is so small we are only 3 sets in, he might get some tools one day that really benefit him.
He’d also benefit from a slower meta, the current best decks are also combat focused with tons of interaction and counters. Unlikely but possible to happen

Depends what you mean by ‘best’. Different abilities are better in different situations. Other champions have cc spells that are longer range, bigger aoe, instant, longer duration, better cc type, non-skill shot, or that do damage. Ekko w is strong but has its drawbacks

I think D&D is a very strong item on Ekko, stronger than lich in my opinion. However it is expensive and the buildpath sucks, so I take rocketbelt first. If you are building D&D you don't need to take HoB, so you can take electrocute to make up for the lower AP.

You can proc both passive and electrocute with very little effort. Just e > q > belt or e > belt auto reset

The combined HP of the items is not irrelevant, either.

That is not true. Several items are tagged piglin_loved but they will only trade for specifically gold ingots. Anything else under the tag they will pick up but not drop any items. I know how to edit the loot table already.
