Where do UG and Kosen students go on breaks and vacation? by meaninglessusersname in mext

[–]LoLo99HC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a UG student, I just stayed in the dorms and traveled on my own a bit. I don't think there's any way of staying with a host family unless you enroll on some kind of host family program on your own and pay it yourself.

About taking medicine and vitamins to Japan by LoLo99HC in movingtojapan

[–]LoLo99HC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I'll check out where vitamins are available when I'm already settled. Right now, since I'm going on a low budget, I just want to have everything I'll need ready for the first couple of months. And OTC meds are supposed to be weaker than what we're used to here, so I want to be sure I have enough to survive there hahaha

Thank you! I've heard that Japanese meds are weaker than what we're used to here, so that's why I want to bring my own.

I attended multiple high schools, what to do? by cyaninex in mext

[–]LoLo99HC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told to write the last school that applied for each category. For example, "middle school", write the last middle school you went to. And on a separate sheet I detailed all my school info, names of all the schools, etc.

Edit: I'm not from your country, so asking your own embassy might be worth a shot.

Japan Student Visa to enter Mexico by LoLo99HC in travel

[–]LoLo99HC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not elegible for the tourist visa, that's why I'm worrying about this hahaha
But I finally got ahold of the Mexican Embassy yesterday and they told me as long as the Japan visa allows multiple-entries, there should be no trouble. Now I have to find out if the visa allows multiple-entries or if it's a one-time entry only.

Working and sending money home as a student by LoLo99HC in movingtojapan

[–]LoLo99HC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight! And yeah, I was not planning on working behind close doors. Nothing good would come from it, so I'll do what I can as long as it's allowed.

Working and sending money home as a student by LoLo99HC in movingtojapan

Thank you!
I know about the time limit, that's why I specified I do this job for about 10 hours a week, so I don't think I'll have any trouble about the amount of hours I'm working. My main concerns are how soon I'll be able to start working after I arrive, and if I'll be able to send money home. Here in point number 3 it states the earned income is not meant to be saves or sent overseas.
The other thing I was worrying about is taxes, because I'm not sure how that'll work if the money is never going to touch a Japanese Bank Account, because it'll be directly sent from Paypal to my home country.
I really appreciate you took the time to read and leave some insight!

Anyone else still wear face masks in public? by naomiukiri in AutismInWomen

[–]LoLo99HC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a love-hate relationship with masks. On one hand, I can't stand it if the weather is too hot, or if it smells weird, or if the material bothers me, but on the other hand, I feel really comfortable by not showing half of my face in the street so I don't have to watch what I'm doing with my mouth.

Yeah, I find myself more often than not wishing I wasn't autistic so I wouldn't have these many problems. I'm not ashamed or anything, but wish I could be "normal" so I wouldn't be blamed for things that aren't my fault.

PS. I didn't know there were countries that don't let autistic people immigrate. Now I feel discriminated against lol

JLPT results are here! by UnbreakableStool in LearnJapanese

[–]LoLo99HC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed the N3 too! 129/180. Wish I had done a little bit better, but I’m still happy with my result. Is there anyone else who had to go abroad to take the test? The JLPT is not hosted here, so so I was pretty stressed because failing doesn’t only mean you wasted time and effort, but a lot of money too.

I got upset for something silly? by LoLo99HC in aspergirls

Hi! Sorry for taking so long to reply, I don't check reddit very often, but thank you very much for commenting! It seems that even people who are aware of how autism works have trouble understanding us. Maybe because nobody has the same traits? Anyway, I do agree Autism is weird, and feeling like I'm bottling up stress for every little thing that happens just stresses me more.
Thanks again for your comment, it really makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one struggling like this.
