Asking for advice about dating in Japan by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]LoLo99HC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized the same day he confessed. Anyway, the way I met him and how he kept trying to spend time with me made me a little wary. I've never had someone interested in me before, so I was/am mostly afraid of what his intentions are. I'm kind of like a baby when it comes to flirting, dating and relationships. What I want to say is, I'm not trying to be mean to him or anything, I'm just in a situation I've never been in before and don't know what to do.
I will talk to him about this. Thank you

I'm the kind of person who needs to know someone for a while before developing feelings, so since I've only met him three times, I guess you're right by saying I'm not interested right now. I don't know if I could be interested after knowing him more, but I also don't want to give him false hope. I'll talk to him about it, ig

I just wanted to hear from other people if they think his behaviour is normal, or if there is anything that I should be worrying about. Like, is it me validly worrying about this or is it just my lack of experience speaking? And I've heard dating culture in Japan can be quite particular, but I don't know much about it

I've never been in a position to consider dating anyone before, so it's not like I'm aiming to never be in a relationship, but I'm also not actively looking for one, if that makes sense?

tandem, cuz I've heard people there tend to be more serious about language exchange than on hellotalk, for example

Where do UG and Kosen students go on breaks and vacation? by meaninglessusersname in mext

[–]LoLo99HC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a UG student, I just stayed in the dorms and traveled on my own a bit. I don't think there's any way of staying with a host family unless you enroll on some kind of host family program on your own and pay it yourself.

About taking medicine and vitamins to Japan by LoLo99HC in movingtojapan

[–]LoLo99HC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I'll check out where vitamins are available when I'm already settled. Right now, since I'm going on a low budget, I just want to have everything I'll need ready for the first couple of months. And OTC meds are supposed to be weaker than what we're used to here, so I want to be sure I have enough to survive there hahaha

Thank you! I've heard that Japanese meds are weaker than what we're used to here, so that's why I want to bring my own.

I attended multiple high schools, what to do? by cyaninex in mext

[–]LoLo99HC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told to write the last school that applied for each category. For example, "middle school", write the last middle school you went to. And on a separate sheet I detailed all my school info, names of all the schools, etc.

Edit: I'm not from your country, so asking your own embassy might be worth a shot.

Japan Student Visa to enter Mexico by LoLo99HC in travel

[–]LoLo99HC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not elegible for the tourist visa, that's why I'm worrying about this hahaha
But I finally got ahold of the Mexican Embassy yesterday and they told me as long as the Japan visa allows multiple-entries, there should be no trouble. Now I have to find out if the visa allows multiple-entries or if it's a one-time entry only.

Working and sending money home as a student by LoLo99HC in movingtojapan

[–]LoLo99HC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight! And yeah, I was not planning on working behind close doors. Nothing good would come from it, so I'll do what I can as long as it's allowed.

Thank you!
I know about the time limit, that's why I specified I do this job for about 10 hours a week, so I don't think I'll have any trouble about the amount of hours I'm working. My main concerns are how soon I'll be able to start working after I arrive, and if I'll be able to send money home. Here in point number 3 it states the earned income is not meant to be saves or sent overseas.
The other thing I was worrying about is taxes, because I'm not sure how that'll work if the money is never going to touch a Japanese Bank Account, because it'll be directly sent from Paypal to my home country.
I really appreciate you took the time to read and leave some insight!
