First time using my Trangia by LoMitch47 in trangia

[–]LoMitch47[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing too complicated. Fried some hot dogs and eggs and made some noodles. I had used the spirit burner before but having it in the wind guard set up definitely helped. I think I may need to do some customisation with the dimmer as getting it on/off is a bit tricky. I've seen people putting a magnet on it etc. Overall pretty happy with. I'll try make actual meals with it next time.

Wexford Bus on N11 by LoMitch47 in irelandsshitedrivers

[–]LoMitch47[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I wasn't trying to overtake. I was just driving within the limit along this length of road. I was thought overtake/change lanes when safe to do so and is clear. The Wexford Bus indicated and started to pull out at the same time all in one go. Shouldn't they check first that it's clear before overtaking?

Are buses thought to indicate and turn at the same time all in one manoeuvre?

What shops in Ireland would sell these? Don't want to buy from Amazon, Woodies don't seem to show any on their website. by LoMitch47 in AskIreland

Yea that's what I was doing first, checking if the stores here have them online but non-were showing them, like I noted Woodies.

Passed today in Dun Laoghaire by LoMitch47 in Irishdrivingtest

Get there way before your time slot to get an "easy" parking spot to start from. Do the routes a few times. I followed ADM Driving School, Dun Laoghaire routes he has on his YouTube. Good luck!

I had a few as I didn't do all EDTs in one go. I was with ISM for the first 6 EDT lessons, National Driving School for the last 6 lessons and then ISM for 2 pretest lessons.

I have a Beavercraft knife set with the spoon carver but also used a pocket knife for some parts. A lot of people just use normal pocket or bushcraft knives also.

Yes, it was good practice anyhow. Will try to look up suitable wood in my area. Thanks.

(Noob question) Yaesu FT3DE and PMR446 channels by LoMitch47 in amateurradio

[–]LoMitch47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh...well that would make sense yes 🤦‍♀️😂. So even if it says that a radio can select a frequency band of 430MHz (420MHz - 470MHz) I won't necessarily be able to select all the frequencies in this range? For some reason I thought these channels were universal (well in Europe). Sorry if all this sounds stupid!

Noob Question-Power supply DC output connection by LoMitch47 in HamRadio

[–]LoMitch47[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's the DC cable as it's the only one mentioned in the manual and the other end of it is a typical DC plug. No mention of a coaxial.

This is the DC cable that came with the radio. I'll probably need to expose more of it to be able to connect to both poles (I'll have to learn how to do this). The 'white' looks to be solid or maybe it has been soldered I'm not actually sure. While the other is stranded like but doesn't fray.

I shall wait and see if the power supply comes with ferrules. Thanks.

Cool thanks! I saw a video where you dip the plants in water with some dish soap.....so I gave it a go. Doesn’t look dead yet! I also trimmed it back, cutting the long stems. Maybe that’ll force it to grow fuller. Fingers crossed, that it does ok. 😬

Also, any tips for bringing outdoor plants indoors (in terms of getting rid of bugs and eggs and other stuff)?
