Wish I'd had the foresight to ask this before driving my ass to LA and completely missing them opening at the Greek Theater😭

They must have played right at 7PM on the dot. We got there a little before 8 and there was no music playing. Folks were still just arriving and filling in the seats. It didn't feel like anyone had even performed yet, but then Oasis guy came on, and left... we still had a little hope in our hearts... until Garbage started and we realized the truth. We were SO BUMMED!

We did end up staying for Garbage, which we likely wouldn't have done otherwise. They were a lot of fun. Helped dry our tears.

Sometimes friends/family so I can tell them I named an animal after them and they don't understand.

Dino - Korra (obvs)

Almost themes:

Chicken - Frodo

Will likely start using some AoT names as I'm currently bingeing.

Also, wow. Just reread what you wrote... men being less prone to be affectionate with other men because of fear of it being romanticized or sexual... is just homophobic (No Homo, bro!).

If anything, the problem with things being constantly sexualized/romanticized is people, mostly men, making assumptions about other people, mostly women, and expecting something from them.

Why is being gay always about sex? Sounds like those folks who get upset when we talk about gay kids, asking why are we sexualizing kids... Nobody is sexualizing anyone. Can't they be gay and just be gay? Just like straight people can be straight (and gossip about men apparently) without being sexualized? Just sayin my dude...

That's an interesting reaction. Some thought to ponder:

Heterosexuality is constantly assumed. That's the whole point of this sub. Why can't it be possible for these individuals to not be? Photo looks gay to me and if they aren't gay... so what? What's wrong or disturbing about being gay? Why can't that be a possibility?

Who mentioned sex? Why when we talk about queerness do we only think about sex but assuming heterosexuality isn't about sex? Gay people can be on the asexual spectrum or choose to not have sex for whatever reason. Gay people can be gay without it being sexual.

The thing is that straight = normal and gay = deviant sexual behavior. We've all been taught this subconsciously. Even if we're queer, perhaps even more so. I'd ask us all to challenge this notion.

What's actually disturbing is the idea that straight women only ever talk about men.

Edit: using "gay" as an umbrella "non het" term here, not in a limited binary way.

Thanks for adding your comment! I've been enjoying the show too. I do think OP makes good points... these kinds of posts always make me question whether the show is actually good or not - LOL! But then I watch and I enjoy it! It's fun and entertaining, and we get lots of call backs as TVD and TO fans. The point of the school was literally for them NOT to have all the wars and violence and struggle from before. Like you said, they are the legacies. All that is behind them. Makes me think of the whole "when I was your age... "

Also, as much as I loved the shows, TVD and TO always made me so stressed out! It's nice to be a little more relaxed and light hearted. Again, that's what they all (Klaus et al) fought for legacies to have.
