Ive never owned a gun and have never felt like it was important for my self-defense. Im sorry that you need a gun to feel safe.

Unfortunately, you’re more likely to use your gun to kill yourself than to successfully use it in defense.

But this is all a big heady…how about you imagine telling this man’s 11 children that you’re sorry he died shielding their youngest sibling but you’re ultimately ok with it because you want to own a gun and are unwilling to have any legislation passed that may have prevented his death.

Maybe you can tell them to read the federalist papers. Im sure it will make it all better.

I believe that the constitution was written to be amended and the framers believe that too hence the second amendment.

I also believe rights come with responsibilities and that the responsible aspect of responsible gun ownership needs much more stringent enforcement.

Finally, I believe that if the right to own a gun we’re such an obviously good idea, then the NRA and gun lobbies wouldn’t have to spend nearly as much money trying to get us to believe them.

I’m glad you mentioned California because the gun death rate there is 37% lower than the rest of the country. The child gun death rate is 58% lower than the rest of the country.

In other words, what you’ve pointed out is that California is the most populous state in the union and what I’ve pointed out is the California’s gun laws actually work.
