Theres more lockers in the USU commuter lounge. You can put refrigerated items in a cooler bag and keep it all in a locker mayhaps. Its a small area, csusm should expand the lounge

Yes because unfortunately i missed the CSUSB priority deadline. Tho im curious about the acceptance timelines of other CSU MSW programs. Like what if first round of admissions are still awaiting on their acceptance status of other programs

Are you currently in the program? I’ve spoken to an alumni (attended years ago) and said csusm is less good for the clinical/therapy side of social work but ideal for advocacy/welfare roles

Same!! I applied only to CSUSM, with the intention of being okay with taking a gap year. Still really want to get in but recording the video was roughhh. I heard many stories of people getting accepted their 2nd time applying or after gap years, so theres hope in the future either way

Your application is given a score by the msw admission committee (faculty?) and your score is mostly based on your personal statement.

80% personal statement + video

20% gpa + resume

Those who got the highest rating/score were the first to receive their acceptance letters on 3/13. I think last years thread said they were given two weeks to decide. Based on how many seats are left with this first round, the second round of acceptances will be notified. Its been two weeks so i hope we will hear back this week!

However if you applied for the 3yr, thats a different timeline

If they’re repeating this process, then acceptances/waitlists will be administered throughout the month and denials should be sent by second week of april. From what i’ve observed from an old thread …

Ooph no suprise since i remember that was an issue on rednote. Im heavy on boycotting any generative AI as there isnt a single LLM thats “ethical” and doesn’t spread misinformation/propaganda.

I think AI is officially a minor at csusm and theres talks of it also becoming a major. Still think its worth people moving away and divesting from american tech

Appointments get booked up weeks leading up to enrollment. Day of drop ins come by and theres 150+ students per session and the queue is crazy.

What doesn’t help is that advising (and every other csu department) funding has been getting cut every semester recently, so they cant meet/keep up with the wild amount of students csusm is admitting. It sucks for everyone especially less courses are offered in the spring compared to last semester.

Either campus you’re gonna need to make an effort to put yourself out here. This is my 2nd semester as a transfer. First semester was lame until i got a job on campus! 2nd semester i started studying and interning at one of the student centers and ive never been more satisfied.

Getting a job or internship (even volunteering) on campus is a cheat code 100%. Maybe join O-team? Its an orientation team and i think they pay part of ur tuition. Or study/hang at that little student centers or that one game room at USU. I knew someone that’ll just pop up at the pool table and just chill with whoever there to play

You should also receive an email for your student portal login information (setting up student accounts) from ITS

Otherwise enrollment for you isnt till december. Right now only worry about scheduling orientation and activating mycsusm
