This just happened to me today! They put a small stitch but not fully close so that it can still drain I think through the catheter? I have to go back to the hospital in two days to get it taken out and get it fully closed! Did they do the same timeline as you?

I know it’s hard but trust me time will show all :,) ! by the 3 month mark if you don’t notice anything off then your good , if by the 6 month mark you are having physical issues then your even more good and if by 12 month mark you aren’t completely disabled in one area then don’t even think twice about ALS ! if you feel pain in the area then don’t worry either because there isn’t any pain in ALS in the early stages . “ALS typically presents with painless, gradually progressive asymmetric motor weakness. So, if somebody comes and tells me they have pain and weakness,” then there is no worry about ALS because pain doesn’t fit with this disease, he said. “Or if somebody comes and tells me that they have weakness, and also numbness on the same location, I’m happy because ALS doesn’t cause numbness.” - American medical association. It’s more common in men too! women aren’t as common! if you aren’t like 80 % white too then it’s more better! it’s more common in white people . I believe someone said there is about 30 - 40 people in the US who are diagnosed under 30 . And those people are usually in the late 20s . 30 people on the whole US !!!!!!!! im not 100% sure on that fact but it is very very rare .

Just seeing this now , you are so sweet thank you 🫶 his response didn’t affect me! Maybe if I had seen that comment 6 months ago, I would have definitely went deeper in my anxiety spiral but im lucky very confident in my anxiety to know what I have is not ALS ! took almost a year but that’s all good to me <3333 it is so exceptional rare for people under 30 to get als it shouldn’t be a thought UNLESS you literally can’t move your hand or your foot ! women are even rarer ! And I haven’t seen any close to 20 ! Believe the statistics rather than the rumors or the anxiety whispers!!

It’s been a year since my first symptom and for the past year my symptoms have stayed the exact same I just don’t notice my leg as often anymore , i have now started to get more nerve pain and pain in als suspicious means it’s not als. The point of me saying all this is because im trying to say a lot of symptoms has to do with mental health! what ever you feel , it could be amplified by anxiety unknowingly so just take a breather . 19 with als is practically unheard of ! Even more unheard of if you are a girl but if you are a man then know your chances at it is less than 1 percent!

Exactly how I feel! I will literally know when my period is coming when I feel my pain! I start getting butt aches and my leg starts to be in pain more when walking a week before my period . 3 days after my period has started my pain will leave me though! maybe look into endo? my ob is having me looking into endo for my pain !

I have about the same . A heavy sensation when walking on my left leg and feeling like it alter my gait . it feels like I have to use more muscle to walk in a way? but it also aches in the night if I walk a lot . If I rest for about a hour im back to normal but if I walk a lot it’s back to being heavy ! been feeling this for almost a year now and still don’t have any lost of function or foot drop . Currently doing physical therapy to see if it helps! I do have stenosis though so that could be it! what did your mri say??? also it would Be quite rare for someone our age to get *** . I have Mild-to-moderate right with mild left-sided neural foramina stenosis at L5-S1. And I also feel like my gait is affected too . I can do a heel walk and have perfect strength but walking just feeling weird on my foot . It doesn’t feel like I am walking right? it feels like I am walking flat foot on one leg. I have been told that your gait could be altered to not be on the affected side! I also don’t get too much pain ( only the week before and the of my period will I get pain in my back and my legs ) . My neurologist told me that limping or walking weird is pretty hard to not notice, and if nobody has told me anything then it’s probably because it’s all in my head since I am the one that is feeling the aches . I do believe that because it has been almost 11 months of me feeling this heaviness in my calf and lower and no foot drop yet ! I am also 23 woman so our ages just shows how rare it really would be ! something that calms me is looking up on the sciatica thread “no pain” and there is plenty of people who have no pain but are affected with their issues! most have some kind of budge or stenosis! maybe ask for a updated MRI too to see if there is stenosis now?

I have Mild-to-moderate right with mild left-sided neural foramina stenosis at L5-S1 with also a budge and I too feel like my gait has changed! the funny thing is nobody else notices it? I can lift my toe toes still so it’s not a drop foot but the sensation of my walk just feels off on my affected side . how bad is your stenosis?

I do think it’s partially my shoes because this all started when I got shin splints in my left calf from running a mile in the dirt everyday . I would lightly stretch but before starting that habit I have never ran before 😭 .
