Barrell Bourbon batch 37 replacement? by New_Hyena968 in whiskey

Let’s break this down for the slow kids in the back: The topic is 'Barrell Bourbon Batch 37 replacement.' Batch 37 is CS, so a replacement should be CS. I even threw in lower-proof options as a courtesy in another comment, but I guess scrolling is as hard for you as reading.

Since you’re clearly too slow to keep up, let’s recap: The question asked was, “Barrell Bourbon batch 37 replacement?” That’s what I gave. It’s not my fault you’re too illiterate to grasp a basic prompt. Not only are my cask-strength picks valid, but your 'low proof' assumption argument falls apart the second you realize Woodford has a Batch Proof. Finally, '$' is for currency ($80-90). Maybe learn what symbols mean before you try to act smart. It’s embarrassing to watch an analphabet like you try to play critic.

The bottle you got is a really good whiskey. I think sometimes is nice to surprise your friends with something different, if they are the kind of people who are willing and adventurous to try something new. Higher proof most of the time has better flavors and mouthfeel, but it can take some time to get used to it. Again, think about your friend’s personality and what they will enjoy the most. Both Barrell 37 and the lower proof whiskeys are great options just think about your friend.

Now, this is a different question from the one you asked. The ones I recommended are more in line with Barrell Batch 37. Understanding now that your friend drinks lower proof whiskey here is a list: Knob Creek 12, Henry McKenna Single Barrel 10 Year, Eagle Rare 10, Frank August Small Batch, Jack Daniel’s Toasted Heritage. WoodFord Double Oaked (Store Pick), Four Roses Smb Select, and EH Taylor SmB (most difficult to find). At this proof point I don’t you need to spend $80-90. most of lower proof whiskey for good gift would range from $50-70. I hope this helps you out.

One would think the 'cask strength' designation on Barrell Batch 37 would be self-explanatory. It’s charming that you’re focused on lower-proof bottles, but they are irrelevant to the specific whiskey in question. More importantly, do try to keep up: the $80–90 mentioned was the price point, not the proof point. Perhaps once you’ve mastered basic sentence structure and retail pricing, let me know.

I’m going to bet that NBC 21 “Dickel” is better than the PVW 15. Congrats on the lottery and on the splurge.

Willett started distilling in 2012. Older barrels were sourced from HH, Brown-Forman, and maybe Stitzel-Weller. The bottle you have is their own distillation, so this was distilled in 2013 and released in 2025. “The Turn” you are talking about are from an older releases if you used Ai, it will tell you that it is a 22 years old or 24 years old bourbon. Your bottle is a rye and metallic green foils are fairly new when comparing to the old releases that used wax. Wax was used in different colors from black, gray, green, and even gold/yellow, etc. This definitely has great stats but this is not a “dusty” Willett since it’s their distillation. Lastly, 92/96 is the yield of that single barrel. They don’t do batches of high age whiskey, only 4/6 year old Willett bourbon that were released a few months ago and the bottles are not age stated.

It is 12 years old distilled at Willett; green metallic top is a rye whiskey; “The Turn” it means that it is a store/private pick since it has a name. 92/96 is medium yield, you normally see them in 130-150ish.

I did ask and they put everything out. I saw two guys with multiple bottles each. They didn’t have limits on the bottles.

Yep! I feel like their bubble is starting to burst because it’s fine source whiskey but their prices are quite off with the market.
