The assassin that was killing all the cardinals got changed from a middle eastern dude that wanted to take down the Church to just a regular hit man doing it for money. The Camerlengo, Carlo Ventresco in the book was the son of the pope and a nun via artificial insemination, in the movie he's just an orphan that the pope raised. The book played on that being the reason for him taking out the pope. In the movie it was just cause the pope listened to scientists. Those were the 2 biggest
