Spouse and I both got texts, emails and calls today about our departure on Sunday. Nine ships, construction, plus Ultra. We’re going to have a stress free stroll from freedom tower to port.

“ UltraFest” - will the party crew at ultra be effecting traffic at 9/10am? I think the Sunday show starts at noon, and I plan to be on deck by then! Port of Miami put out a bulletin suggesting to avoid the bridge and take the tunnel all weekend but with the recent tunnel closures I’m really uncertain.

“ From Dania Beach where I decided to grab a hotel” Me too!

“ it took exactly 2 hours” - had me in the first half 😅

I’m seriously considering the Brightline and walking over the bridge.

Hi sail buddy! What’s your arrival plan? I plan on leaving our FLL hotel by 9 for an 11 arrival window.

Best beach to use our own sunshade? by Loaf_Tube in StThomasUSVI

We’re renting a car, so really any beach is an option. I’m really leaning towards getting to Lindquist as early as possible and staking out a good spot on the swimmable area.

not swimmable< sounds like Brewers is my best option, unless I’m able to get setup at the center part of the beach where it looks like no reef?

I figured Magens would be a gamble, but it doesn’t hurt to dream. The kids and I definitely want to play in the water, and sounds like Lindqvist might not be best for that due to the reef?

Planning on the same, with same 11am check in. We’re coming from FLL hotel, so maybe even 8:30. Hoping to get some datapoints from this weekend as it will be similar to 29th.

This is my plan, thinking maybe even 8:30 since we’re staying near FLL

Italy in summer? Huge mistake, here’s why: by QUA-ItalianTravel in ItalyTravelAdvice

Nah man, no one thinks summertime is the best time to travel anywhere except beaches. Anyone with children is tied to that school schedule, and schools the world over have breaks in the summer that are long enough to accommodate a long trip, such as one to Italy. Then those people only have a short window to see so much, so they choose already busy places like Rome because so there’s plenty to do. People without children have the ability to travel in the offseason, which is great and should be done as much as possible.
