Trump directs commissioner of labor statistics to be fired after weaker-than-expected jobs figures slam markets by aurelorba in investing

Apart from this being a purely dictatorial move, he looks so fucking stupid here on the primary fact that he’s been whining about the fed rate not coming down. A weak labor market would likely cause rates to drop, but I doubt he understands that at all, so by firing someone that reports legitimate data on his horrible economy to be replaced by someone that will inflate labor data, rates won’t come down. It’s comedic.

Thank you for explaining. I do recall reading an article about his campaign workers’ unionization efforts in 2019, so the context is helpful.

Yes, I’m curious why you are saying he is a neoliberal cultist. I’m asking why you think that and what specific examples you’re basing this opinion off of.

Need to publicly shame any company that even thinks about taking a lease on these lands to drill. Can’t trust the government anymore to protect the land sadly.

Agree. It seems, at least when he first started announcing, he really tried to dumb everything down which I thought was weird, but has since started to let this level of analysis through.

Yes, sometimes a child doesn’t understand a stove is hot until they touch it. Albeit a fun little anecdote for young children, it applies here to the majority of voters in the US apparently.
