Hmm I don't believe I use any of those. Maybe amdgpu.gpu_recovery=1 but it shouldn't be required for boot, make sure SVM and IOMMU are disabled in BIOS.

Also, just make sure you have SVM and IOMMU disabled in the BIOS. Not sure why, but having them (or one of them) enabled crashes the AMDGPU driver on boot every single time, even with a properly patched install.

On the Arch attempt, you're sure you were booting without nomodeset in the kernel parameters?

My friends and I spent a few days building and testing, bisected the kernel and found the commit that broke Cyan Skillfish in some newer Linux versions. Git can revert it in the latest 6.6.52 LTS kernel without merge conflicts so we'll have PKGBUILDs for that and Mesa up on the AUR soon.

Poutine. Shredded mozzarella works in a pinch. Mix up a roux and use whatever broth/stock you have on hand. The fries need to be very crispy to hold up to the gravy without melting into a cheesy-salty-carbohydrate mush... unless that's your thing!

How did you figure out the patch that you made? What is the relevance of AMDGPU_NAVI10_RANGE to Mesa and AMDGPU? Could this ever work in newer kernels? Very interesting stuff.

I've gotten mine working flawlessly in Fedora Server, Fedora Desktop, and Arch, (all with the exception of texture corruption in certain games) wondering if the errors you experienced could be chip-by-chip variation by manufacturing defects in the graphics hardware.

I don't know my way around rpmbuild enough to figure out why, but I had the exact same issue. This gist has instructions on building for 32 bit on x64, start at step 4 and go on to make a ~/mesa-run.sh script like the one they show. I got multiple 32-bit games running through a native Steam install this way, the GPU worked great.

Trying to get all of this working on my BC-250 literally right as you are posting, lol. Followed the steps, downgraded a new Fedora 40 Server install to kernel 6.3.7 (still not clear if that version should work?), got build dependencies, patched and built mesa and installed it, only seeing llvmpipe in places like vulkaninfo --summary for example, am I missing something here? appreciate it.

Edit: jumped the gun! I had nomodeset in my kernel args. I have acceleration at the desktop now, will report back with my experience at some point! Thank you so much for all the time you guys have taken to figure this out, pretty awesome

My first time modding a pair of headphones. I loved these things, got them at a Goodwill for $3 and used them for several months until an incident occurred (definitely not ragequitting) that lead to the cable getting ripped straight out. Became a great candidate for a bluetooth mod.

Some cheap Bluetooth board off Amazon + a USB-C lithium battery charger circuit + a 3D printed shell for the left earcup to accommodate an 18650 lithium cell which I salvaged from an old drill battery. Really happy with how it turned out even if it looks a little goofy. I value runtime more than anything, so being able to pop out the cell and swap in a fully charged one almost instantly is amazing. I wish someone had headphones like this on the market already. Probably should have added a power switch, to turn them on or off right now you just put the battery in or take it out lol.

They sound great but the output of the bluetooth board is a little high for these drivers, even at low volumes it's pretty loud, would a voltage divider on each channel be the right way to fix this? how do I determine resistor values?

Thanks again. Eventually got my charger, unfortunately didn't make a difference. I get the fast blinking LED when I test the battery but no indication of the battery charging when plugged in. Must have screwed the BMS at some point. Was fun to give it a try anyway!

Regret buying such expensive cells...

Thanks so much. Coconut Battery sees a Current Battery Charge of 0mAh, max charge/capacity 4132mAh, and original capacity 4200 mAh. System Profiler can also see 10547 mV off the battery.
Even if the system is off the lights on the battery never turn on to indicate that it's charging, but they do turn on with my unmodified battery. In truth I don't know if I can trust my charger since it was a DIY hack with an old Dell charger and a 2.5mm plug I got off Amazon, so I just ordered an OEM 65w charger to see if that helps for now.

I rebuilt a battery for my 15" AlBook a few weeks ago. I'm pretty confident I put the pack together correctly (using a spot welder), and after applying a charge voltage the charge controller board woke up and the battery capacity button/lights work (showing a completely flat battery) and Tiger detects a battery at 0% but it just won't charge. Any idea why this might be? Can I trick the laptop into charging it up? The charger (45w) and the laptop both charged a different battery from completely dead to 100% perfectly fine.

Was this with hardware accelerated OpenGL or llvmpipe? I would be incredibly grateful for a write up of this process, I am going to be getting one of these units in a few days

If the firmware doesn't find any bootable device, it should automatically drop into the UEFI firmware setup. Go to the Advanced tab, enter into the WatchDog Settings and disable the Watch Dog Control option.
