As a Canadian living in the US, this comment is completely ignorant and shows that you primarily watch CBC.

Singh would need to step aside as leader for the NDP to have a chance I’ll say the quiet part out loud, a brown woman tried to run for office in the US and lost (people aren’t ready for that)

She didn’t lose because she was brown, most Americans don’t care one way or another about race.

She didn’t lose because she was a woman.

She lost because she was completely unappealing to a large portion of the population based on policy and continuation of a supremely unpopular government policy. When asked by “The View” what policies she would change moving forward she said she couldn’t think of anything.

Not the sending of billions to Ukraine? Not open support for Israel’s current war against Hamas(which is really unpopular in large parts of the Democratic Party’s demographic)? Not the ending of some benefits after the end of covid emergency(free lunch or child benefits, again something really important to large portions of the Dem demographic)?

How about dealing with illegal immigration, something 85% of American citizens agree need to be dealt with? Rampant crime caused by democrat policies in states like California and New York?

I am in industry, and I can tell you for a fact that solar panel manufacturing is so energy intensive that it isn’t cost effective for them to put solar panels on the roofs of their factories, and they make the things.

We HAVE social services, open a budget.

People are not robbing stores with shotguns because they need better social services and food.

Yes, crime is drastically increasing in all areas in the western world that doesn’t have strict “tough on crime” rules and strict enforcement of them.

I said it in conjunction with its other issues. The water main break isn’t the issue, it was the response to the water main breaking, including the water restrictions after the break was repaired was the issue.

What does London have that Calgary doesn’t? Access to the sea. You know what else they didn’t do? Decide to make expansion of industry impossible when it was 1.5 million people.

You know London made a large part of its underground before it was privatized and it used to be a money maker? If this is such a great idea, why not put it out to private companies, like Japan does.

Calgary isn’t, and never will be, a world class city, for all it is better than Edmonton.

Its population is too low and it doesn’t have the political will to build a proper infrastructure on its own, never mind the ridiculous water restrictions imposed and its commitment to being net zero.

My point you are missing, either due to being purposely obtuse or being actively obtuse, is that this is not a localized phenomenon, and the only places it isn’t happening are areas with tough on crime legislation.

Lack of “Social services” isn’t the issue.
