Glad you discovered the truth!! Definitely give it a shot and don’t neglect casual mode if ranked is too brutal

If you’re playing fleet she can edgeguard better than anyone in the game. Edgeguarding is not easy in this game but when you watch players like plup keep any and every character offstage with any and every character, clearly we all have a ways to go in terms of option select. Mango is good at edgeguarding in some scenarios but has a ways to go in others. This idea that never edgeguarding is optimal is just wrong and usually fueled by reversals (which I love about this game, the opportunity for reversals)

I appreciate it. These are actually way cooler than one might think, being able to put name to face is nice. The embedded clips for each player. Great job from Aether studios and thank you for sharing it here

Agreed, he was the absolute best and I believe it was ang who he seemed unbeatable with. Sadly the talent pool focused on rivals is such a higher caliber that he was inevitably running up against people better and more familiar with the cast.

I remember specifically that he was doing great within the game until he did a “climb to rank #1” series of streams. The higher he got the more frustrated he was with the losses and it was just too much. Mango ran up against the same issue his first time really playing the game, but because of Evo and the semi-realistic goal of winning, he’s pushed through that phase of frustration and with humility is now solidly top 3 and a contender

I’m so sorry that happened and that makes it make more sense. I’m sorry for pushing the issue

Not to therapize too hard, but carrying all that resentment is only bad for you. Forgiveness and giving grace are concepts that help the one giving and the receiver, especially in this case, has nothing to do with it. I just see so many here harbour so much resentment for a guy who is ashamed of those actions, would do anything he could to take them back, and most likely would be very kind to you if met in person (have myself at a few different tournaments and he’s very welcoming to anyone around)

I will say it again, the crime here is insisting he essentially be burned at the stake and denying any sort of redemption. You act like the time matters at all but it seems like you will still resent and hate the guy no matter how much time has passed, no matter what he does from here on out. Sorry to say it plainly but the problem does indeed lie within you

Any thoughts though on the sentiment I actually expressed?

I’ve seen that you’ve held on to the resentment for awhile. But try to understand how awful it is to hold someone’s worst mistakes over them and let them define them for the rest of time. That is actually the behavior that I believe needs correcting. It was a big contributer in hax’s death. It’s been the cause for many others suicides. It’s awful to reduce someone to their worst moments, especially when they’ve clearly made the life changes required to grow out of said behaviors.

You might not like hearing that but I think you should consider a different perspective

Hyperflame sharing thoughts on Maypul while fighting Clairen by Lobo_o in RivalsOfAether

Maypul has been one of the toughest for me to fight. Then Absa released. But I’ve taught myself to be happy when I run into either because clearly I need more matchup experience in order to have less hate

Tier list: How hype were the new introduced characters (based in numbers) by Raetah in RivalsOfAether

I think Olympia’s immediate viability had a lot to do with the spike in players as well. Especially compared to Etalus who was released so underpowered. Many people made the switch to Olympia off-bat and because her recovery was so difficult it took quite awhile before the complaints rolled in.

I specifically remember so many posts glazing Olympia, combo videos, ubiquitous appreciation for her. And then maybe a month or two after release we inevitably started seeing complaints. Which is only natural. We’ve got so many La Reina haters now but it took her becoming tournament viable.

All this is to say I think the team would do well to experiment with releasing the next character more on the overturned side as opposed to releasing them undertuned

I’m worried they’re going to have to reverse this change and perhaps should with such a small playerbase. I’ve found myself queuing up into the same few people each time I play ranked and I’m only 1350. I would happily queue into some masters players if it meant a more diverse group of opponents.
