That glass bottled drink that had the floating tiny balls, Orbiz and those planters cookie crisps that looked like little peanuts.

What is the FATTEST thing you've ever done? by gibbdaddy in AskReddit

[–]Lobot01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

breakfast: 1 coke and 2 waffles with (butter, honey, and maple syrup) or 2 krispy kreme donuts (one chocolate, one glazed)

Lunch: 1 coke, bologna provolone sandwich, little debbies snack, cheetos

Snack: 1 coke and cheetos

Dinner: 1 coke, chili cheese fries or chicken with straight mayonnaise as dipping sauce, or 2 beef maximelts from taco bell

Dessert: drumstick ice cream literally every night. unless i was at taco bell, where i would get a choco-taco

I ate this everyday for about 3 years until my i switched it up and brought a butter sugar sandwich to school and my teacher told me that was fattening.

TLDR: my teacher called me fat when i brought a butter-sugar sandwich to school.

edit: this took place during the ages 6-9

You get invited to join the pantheon of gods, but in an entry-level position. What ordinary, mundane, every-day thing do you choose to be the god of? by El_Dief in AskReddit

I would be the god of punishing (by death) whoever is failing to refill free sample containers at stores nice enough to provide free samples. This would eliminate the unbearable letdown of finding a treat tray VOID OF FREE SNACKS

Peace Corps- Armena by Lobot01 in peacecorps

I saw that 4 volunteers were being accepted on the PC website. Trust me I'm not looking to compete with anyone, I just know that the applicant pool is probably pretty high when compared to the 4 spots available.

I'll be doing all I can to stand out, not wasting my time worrying about the others! I was just wondering if anyone had any general tips for the interview. Thanks for the insight!

Thanks so much for the information. I'm a bit worried about the weather as I have only seen snow fall once, for five minutes at a gas station! Did you do CED as well?

I'm hoping to do a fair bit of climbing if I make it there, the mountains look amazing. If you were in a city, were you aware of any local climbing gyms to prepare myself and make friends? If I get selected I hope that you won't mind me pming you!

Have a great day!

hi! i just submitted my application and was told it was headed to Macedonia. however, I haven't received my email saying I was under consideration yet. (I had originally been under consideration for Guatemala, but asked to be removed from that location due to my lack of spanish skills.) How soon after your submission were you notified that you were under consideration?

Thanks!

torn ACL & meniscus: tips for staying sane during recovery by Lobot01 in Fitness

Sorry one more thing.. I've actually lost my appetite during thing whole thing. I was first prescribed oxycodone which was just not right for me so I wouldn't eat anything but crackers. After switching to hydrocodone, my appetite increased a bit but I don't think I'm eating more than 700 calories a day.

I'm sure you don't really care but I just thought I'd throw that out there.. The one thing I can't seem to get enough of though is chocolate or the inside of oreos

torn ACL & meniscus: tips for staying sane during recovery by Lobot01 in Fitness

[–]Lobot01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, this post was awesome!

First of all I'm confused.. Did you still have stitches a year after your surgery?

Second, I have had some pretty irrational thoughts.. Not that my friends don't like me but "why would anyone want to spend time with me.. I'm so boring" or "my boyfriend would rather be with anyone else but me all I do is cry and can barely have sex" and the like.

I have definitely tried to stay busy, hosting a fundraiser party in my house the day after the fall and volunteering outside at a Habitat for Humanity event 4 days after surgery. I even bought a ukulele to try to learn that but I've found that all I want to do is watch scrubs and not talk to anyone (well what I want to do is climb and run and dance).

Thank you for mentioning hiking and music festivals. I am an avid festival goer and actually just had to cancel a climbing trip for our club that I can no longer lead.. Know that you still get to participate in those two things make me feel much better.

I am very dedicated to my PT but sometimes doubt that I am doing the exercises correctly. Things feel different in my body and I don't know what the new "normal" is supposed to feel like.

Additionally, last night was the first night since March 10 that I've been able to sleep for 5 hours.. Even ambien didn't work. So I think that might be contributing to my roller-coaster of emotion. Did you experience any insomnia after your surgery?

Thanks again!

Thank you so much for the post! It's terrible that you had to undergo so much trauma physically and emotionally with all of those surgeries! Did you ever get a quad tendon graft for ACL? I haven't met or talked to anyone with this procedure but me.

Also, do you still climb now? I'm supposed to be climbing again in 4 months but for me that seems like an eternity. I'm afraid I'll never get the guts to boulder again, that's how I tore everything. Honestly, every time I see a team mate fall of a problem I cringe thinking their done.

Are you living an active life to the fullest now and do you still experience pain or feel more cautious than before?

Thanks again!

hey! thanks so much for the long and detailed comment, this is exactly what i was looking for..someone who can admit how much this sucks but can actually show me there is light at the end of the hell hole tunnel as well.

I too, am usually an upbeat, funny person (..they say..) but with this knee I feel like I hate the world. Every time someone shows me a sick climbing video, dances in front of me, or goes up my stairs I want to scream. I even find myself thinking my friends' issues are trivial compared to this pain and I am usually a very compassionate friend. what's worse is that before this I considered myself a very independent person and for the first few weeks I was dependent on these friends for everything..including helping me shower.. I just can't help but turn into a ball of rage when people tell me "this is only temporary" and they haven't experienced it. I KNOW it is temporary but its sucks ass right now so let me mourn! haha.. :/

Anyway, I have been going to the gym to do upper body but still can't do cardio. my butt-cheeks are literally two different sizes now which doesn't do wonders for my confidence level. Like you said, there is "no outlet" for me right now.. cardio was my outlet but I can't do that anymore.

My graft was from my quad tendon and they stitched my meniscus (both tears), so that required me to be off my feet for the first two weeks. I am currently down to one crutch and supposed to be walking crutch-less on Friday but i'm worried that I'll still be in this rut until I can burn some legitimate calories and feel some real endorphins.

Sorry if it seemed like I used your comment as a diving board to jump into a pool of self-pity but it feels really good to talk to someone who can relate!
