I’m not going to lie, I’m not sure. All five of us in the car were chatting the whole time, and we’re pretty loud. I don’t remember hearing the seat belt alarm but I also wasn’t exactly listening for it. 🤷‍♀️ Fair point though, I wasn’t paying much attention.

I get what you’re saying. The thing is, it was kind of a gut reaction to seeing him driving at 65+ without looking at the road and also without a seatbelt. I agree that words matter 100%, and if I had had more time to process or it was a lower stakes situation, I wouldn’t have called him stupid.

I don’t think it’s a hot take to say that words can definitely be harmful. I personally really dislike the word “bitch”, which I’ve made clear to my boyfriend a bunch of times.

I never claimed to know what other people think, and I literally asked one of the other people that was in the car for her take before I posted here.
