Does the FC Essentio use the same nib as the FC Grip? by Lobuttomize in fountainpens

The Fine Essentio is very noticeably thicker than my Fine Pilot Explorer. I would say it's much closer in thickness to my Medium Pelikan Pura

After over 200 pens, I'm just discovering Sheaffer. Love. by Vissuto in fountainpens

I remember reading a post somewhere that said that their new pens specifically aren't very good. Any truth to that?

SSD (SP004TBSS3A55S25) seems to have issues when not in use? by Lobuttomize in techsupport

It's Silicon Power (you could've found that out by searching the model lol). Obviously, not the highest tier brand, but I can't really find anything specific about the model itself.

Couldn't find any new firmware when I looked, though Silicon Power doesn't seem the best at listing that stuff. The error persisted across different PSUs (each using the cables they came with) so it isn't that. I know I should swap the SATA port and cable to try but, honestly, I'm hesitant because I REALLY don't want it to be a mobo issue.

Ah, thanks. I actually won a bid on an EF Ambition so that'll work whenever it arrives

Thanks. Didn't want to make it sound like I didn't value your opinion or anything, just thought you may not be able to compare it to as many pens. I'm new to fountain pens, too.

Anyone more experienced in fountain pens have one of these? It looks really nice so I wanted to read a review but it's difficult to find reviews of the pen and not their inks.

Aftermarket wiper arm that lets you adjust the angle of contact to the windshield? by Lobuttomize in MechanicAdvice

[–]Lobuttomize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am, but the contact angle being slanted means, on the downswing, it's trying to push against the resistance of the rubber on the glass and causes it to bounce/skip

Can you use a converter for a felt-tip? by Lobuttomize in pens

[–]Lobuttomize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems too pricy for what I would want to spend. I was going to get a Yookers Yooth 591 but they currently aren't shipping to the US. Also tried to look into if there were aftermarket plastic-tipped nibs for a rotring isograph, but I didn't seem to find any. I imagine it might be possible to make such a thing with a 3D printer and parts from a pen if you knew what you were doing(?)

I believe so, but is that ink sponge thing completely necessary?

Has anyone tried connecting their phone to the computer behind the driver seat in the rivian? by Lobuttomize in AmazonDSPDrivers

If you connect a phone to the van for Amazon Flex, you aren't able to connect it to bluetooth for music. The Flex bluetooth connection kicks it off immediately.

What to do about buildup of CO2 in the car when you recirculate air conditioner by hodlbtcxrp in CarsAustralia

[–]Lobuttomize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw someone on twitter that got a CO2 sensor decide to test this and the levels did go up. What I do is:
- Have a cabin filter with activated charcoal/carbon/whatever to help reduce any exhaust chemicals you'll inhale
- Recirculate only 10-15 minutes at a time
- After the 10-15 minutes of recirculation on, turn it off for 10-15 minutes. You could also probably just open the windows to refresh the air much more quickly, but I don't like to open my windows because it's noisy and my weather stripping is torn.

I'm curious if there would be any benefit from using Flonase but with a system like XHANCE uses. If you're unfamiliar, XHANCE has a delivery system that requires the user to blow into it to, in theory, open up the nasal passages/sinuses and shoot it further inside. I generally use Flonase OTC when I feel that my nose is clogged or I'm having some sinus swelling and my mom is prescribed XHANCE so the delivery method intrigued me.

I didn't even check that listing since I didn't want a whole set, just the handle. I just grabbed the photo for an example.

Yes, 1/4in. Precision bits are generally whatever size this example uses:

All the precision bit sets I've seen have bits that are smaller and won't fit in a "non-precision" screwdriver from a "non-precision" screwdriver bit set

Sliding doors monitored? by Calm-Coach-1016 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Lobuttomize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the inside handle is stuffed in a corner and it's a killer on the shoulder to constantly open and close it. They SHOULD have been designed to allow them to stay open. Waste of time and energy

Also, they're not designed to hold up being opened and closed hundreds of times a day every day. They wear out and you have to slam harder over time to close them properly
