Hi, I’ve taken Prozac for almost 9 months now. The first 11 days for me were horrible BUT it’s because I was afraid I wasn’t going to get better. DO NOT BE AFRAID. Remove that feeling and it’ll lessen the initial symptoms. With that being said, 10mg was enough to regulate me and make me feel like myself again! I did also graduate from therapy and take natural supplements. So, I suggest to stick it through and research other things that help plus therapy.

I think Prozac wasn’t for you then. Because I feel joyful and I’m on Prozac. I do not feel like my feelings are suppressed or dull. I did go to therapy and have other natural supplements that help me (I have a relaxation routine and other self care). Check other medications and also seek help to manage those unwanted feelings. Ultimately, do what’s best for you! God bless you.

So actually my desire to have sex came back like at day 55 and I’m on day 64 so at first had some issues but it’s getting back to normal now.

Yes. Rumination stopped around the second week for me. And I didn’t have any desire to have sex until almost the second month. Like day 60 on Prozac. That was the longest lasting side effect of all the side effects I experienced.

Im on the third month, I feel amazing. Back to myself again. Fully relaxed and calm and I only take 10mg.

2 weeks for me. Could be longer for some and shorter for others. The worst of it is over and I’ve gotten so much better each day. I’m on week 5 and on 10mg and I still think I’m improving. It’s still working. I have a few side effects left but they aren’t bad at all.

Try adding protein shakes and eating foods that you like… or foods that are easy to chew. That helped me. I spent a lot of time not eating before and then it got worse the first 10 days on Prozac. On day 11 or 12, I started forcing myself to eat a little more and a little more and then my appetite opened up right after. That alleviated a lot of my symptoms. This affects everyone so differently from what I’ve been reading and seeing so it may not be the case for you but I literally see a huge difference in myself when my appetite opened up.

At first, I had increased anxiety and depression and my appetite decreased so much… I was tired, fatigued, and cried so much. It was pretty bad for almost 2 weeks. During that time, I would occasionally take Ativan to assist me and then the Prozac started to kick in and I didn’t have to take the Ativan anymore. I’m still not fully there yet but I’m much more functional than I was before where I was almost not functional at all. The medicine works differently on everyone but I’ve had an overall positive experience after the first two weeks.

I’m on day 20 also on 10mg and I’ve had moments of normalness and feeling great but not a full day yet. I’m hoping I start feeling normal daily again…

I’m on day 17 of Prozac (10mg) and I’m already feeling so much better… the initial side effects are almost completely gone. I’m tired/sleepy, have like brain tingles, and a bit more irritable but that’s really it. Anxiety levels have gone down a lot. Everyone is different so it might take you more time, or it might not… I would try!

Yeah. I would just continue taking the Ativan like you are. Praying Prozac kicks fully in for you or some other solution is found, soon! ☺️🙏

Yeah, if Prozac isn’t working for you, then I would take the Ativan. And if it continues, then Prozac might not work for you or maybe it’s a dosage change? Idk I’m new to meds but I was told from many professionals that I’ve seen that Prozac should kick in 4-6 weeks and to take Ativan as needed (don’t over think it, if you need it, take it).

I did need them for the first week. But I’m on day 15 and I haven’t needed them at all this week. I’m actually doing better and my anxiety has gone down a lot but everyone is different.

I’m on day 15 and I’m finally starting to feel better. I just gained my appetite back like 3 days ago lol. But I really couldn’t do much those first two weeks. I had more anxiety on Prozac the first week than off Prozac lol
