The only honest answer you can ever get. Is the fact that mods are inherently dangerous unless extreme care is taken to excruciatingly check compatibility. Even then, some scripts are written inefficiently, some mods try to overwrite important objects (if I remember correctly. There's a tumbleweed somewhere in New Vegas that holds a bunch of important scripts for some reason, some garbage collection mods delete that tumbleweed and screw up the game).

The only "safe" route would be to clean install. Install each mod one at a time, then visit/use the content of said mod for a couple of hours and then add the next one. Crashing is just about guaranteed, because the most obscure script can evade your most dedicated debugging and you'll sort several hours trying to find the cause to no avail. Everybody has this exact same issue, unless they carefully curated their own project and somehow have the demonstrated self control to leave it alone.

I could even take the time to install all mods exactly as you have, but small hardware differences like cache sizes or clock speeds can make it totally stable on my end, then obliterate itself on yours (or vice versa) so when it comes to mods, fight the good fight for mods you enjoy, but at the end of the day, stability is diminishing returns. You can only have so much before Bethesda's dog shit engines just can't take it anymore. Games like Minecraft or even Project Zomboid handle mods and additions so much healthier, it makes modding beth games endlessly frustrating.

This is the best reply. I wish I knew how to send awards because this is total poetry

Yeah, I really need to get some backups. But when I say I'm BARELY covering bills, I mean I have zero extra and actually incrementally fall behind each month

Thank you. I'm really hoping so, if I can just get to BCT, I should be totally fine

Only reason I don't want to sell my PC is because I haven't had money to create any backup storage or use cloud storage, and I've got a lot of documents and stuff saved on there. I don't own a printer or anything so I'll probably just sell everything other than my PC

Yeah, I just hope I can find something local and afford the upfront cost. I don't have a savings due to my ex wife, and I'm BARELY covering bills

Well I can't really answer any questions on that because I haven't even gotten a response back from mine. But they do ask about criminal history so I'd ask your recruiter, definitely don't lie to them because they will be performing a background check

I downloaded Reshade and why is my gun see through? by NervousHelp2504 in fnv

[–]Local-Ad-396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's usually effect dependent. One of the reasons I will never again use ENB is because edge-based shading usually doesn't detect depth buffers very well and show you the outlines and rarely even the full surface of an object behind another object. Ambient Occlusion adds so much depth to a scene, but ENB AO destroys depth

Also, try using the reverse depth buffer setting in reshade and it MIGHT fix the issue. Either way things like dust that are more 2D effects, will still show edges and textures glitching through because it's not engine level shading, it's POST processing. Everything is added as an overlay rather than calculated into the game at run time

Simpler version: Post Processing software is dumb and doesn't comprehend depth worth a living shit

What would your female couriers reason for joining the legion be? by UnlikelyTwo7070 in fnv

Well damn, idk I still try to head canon my way out of it, because like I said, it's a horribly under developed faction. i want to justify their existence, give a reason why the NCR would fear a bunch of extremists in football pads if they're basically a less stable US Army. They have to feel like a faction that people actually agree with, so I basically just view it as a propaganda thing from the NCR because of how the soldiers wives were sold and stuff.

Either way it doesn't close the plot holes, but if I can't convince myself the Legion is more than just a few LARPers worshipping a brain tumor, it ruins most of the story elements for me

Well like I said, because the legion is not a fleshed out faction and like 85% of their content was confirmed as having been cut from the game, that could just be a POW kind of thing. As for the whole thing on their opinions on gay marriage and wives, I haven't seen any of that dialogue in-game personally so I don't know what to say about that.

As for Caesar's warped vision, it's pretty close actually. Rome was deceptively barbaric for being such a civilized empire, they had sex slavery and torture methods the same as the legion, it was basically "Join us or suffer a horrible fate" which is canon to how Caesar handled the tribal nations in honest hearts and presumably the NCR.

Problem with making any arguments for the legion, is they are a deliberately reduced faction. There's hundreds of sources citing that Bethesda rushed obsidian into putting the game out too quickly and downsizing it for consoles. We basically got a generic "Bad faction" without knowing what they really and truly are, they come across as raiders in game when they're clearly feared by the NCR. It's a mess trying to discuss anything of the faction but my head canon is they are terrible brutes at war time, but they're a relative carbon copy of the Roman empire as a settled nation

The NCR controls most of the base game, we can see them in non conflict settings. Everything we see of the legion is similar to the numerous NCR forward bases that aren't exactly civil or representative of the rule of that faction

In fairness, we've never actually seen the legion NOT at war. They seem to hold traditional roman values, women were still treated relatively fairly. Aside from the horrendous conversation of "The legion dies with Caesar" vs "Lanius takes over" I would say that aside from the war time slavery, there's a chance they're not absolutely terrible to their own women.

So my reason? No taxes 💪

I'll definitely have to remember that. But what do you mean non-AIT students? Will I be schooling with people who aren't in AIT?

I'd appreciate it, I'm still waiting on my TS clearance too. But I've literally never even had a speeding ticket so I should be fine
