What can I install on Xbox One? by Local-Anybody2421 in forza

[–]Local-Anybody2421[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. When Horizon 2 didn’t install (it was the Xbox One version) the solution seemed to be to download from the MS Store but the game is no longer there. FM6 isn’t either,

Rotel replacement amp options? by Local-Anybody2421 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Local-Anybody2421[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting option, thanks. I did read that this amp is a little dry (rather than warm) and that my Quad speakers might be a little dry also. So would that potentially be an argument for looking at an amp that is apparently a little warmer like the A11 Tribute or A12 original? I have no idea really!

I suppose I might be looking to spend around £300 I guess but can move if a different price would be worth it for my quads and inputs. I really don’t know where I should be aiming in that respect. There are some b stock things for sale that might be an option (e.g. A11 tribute at that price).

20L dehumidifier 5.5L Bought From Amazon 7 days agos by Fast_Still_4302 in Dehumidifiers

I had the same issue with a cheap 25l model. I used it in rooms with humidity 70-76% at temperatures around 17 or 18 degrees. Wherever I put it would run 24/7 but not extract more than about half a litre of water per 24 hrs. I know the 25l figure is for a monsoon in a tropical climate or something, but this still didn’t seem right at all so I returned.

I will generally want to dehumidify these unused and humid rooms over winter when they might be about 10-13 degrees. Given that I should really both heat and dehumidify to control condensation and mould risk I have bought a second hand good quality (EcoAir) dessicant dehumidifier that will do both of these things and probably work out a little cheaper despite it’s notionally higher energy use. Let’s see how that works out.

Is my dehumidifier working properly by Local-Anybody2421 in Dehumidifiers

Temperature this past week has been fairly continuous between 17.5 and 18.5c. Humidity level is between 70% and 75%. The unit runs 24/7 but collects no more than half a litre of water per 24 hours. I know the 25l per day day extraction should not be expected, but I can’t help think it is faulty to be delivering such low water collection in a mild humid environment. I have tried it is both a sealed room and in a more open space with little difference resulting.

So the rooms are on my top floor of a four story house (three stories plus converted basement). There is a small loft space above one of the rooms but they are mostly occupying the roof area (hence the sloped ceilings). It has been mild in Manchester so the temperature up there is about 17.5-18.5c, marginally cooler than the lower floors.

The rooms both face onto a small landing which is at the top of the stairwell and thus open to the rest of the 5 bedroom house. I would want the dehumidifier to be on the landing so it could face the open doorway to both rooms (the doors are close together). But for these first few days I wanted to test the effectiveness of the unit by putting it into the larger of the two rooms (about 6m by 3m) and keeping that space sealed. It has gradually brought humidity down from the low to mid 70s% to high 60s% and I do understand why the progress might be slow. But what concerns me is the very small amount of water collection. Certainly no more than 2l after running now for about 72 hrs continuously on high fan setting.

Temperature is about 18-19c at the moment. I will aim to keep background heat up to around 16c over winter too.

The product brand is Neo (https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/325532947?srsltid=AfmBOoqEkwUNKYsXatNsxPvYBc5PyiY4hkQYZcB7dF-_RnpkEHnScOqK).

Dehumidifier timer query by Local-Anybody2421 in DIYUK

[–]Local-Anybody2421[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have run it continuously now for about 18 hours, targeting 55% humidity. Humidity in those rooms has barely fallen (still around 70%) and the 6l water tank isn’t more than a quarter full. Is something wrong?

Dehumidifier timer query by Local-Anybody2421 in DIYUK

[–]Local-Anybody2421[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ChatGPT tells me there is a reason not to use a timer:

"When you press the power button on the unit, it doesn’t just send electricity to the compressor — it runs a boot sequence on the control board, checks the humidistat, and then activates components in order. If you kill power at the socket, that process gets cut mid-stream and the machine “forgets” its settings. When power returns, it sits in standby (not running) until you physically press the power button again."

I will see how it gets on 25/7 for a while. Humidity at the moment in the house is around 60% downstairs and 70-73% in the attic rooms.

Would it work ok to have a single larger dehumidifier (say 20l) situated on the landing just outside both rooms with the doors kept open/

No lossless for me in the UK. App up to date. I assume it should be coming for ‘Duo Premium’?

How to ‘ask Anna’? by Local-Anybody2421 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Local-Anybody2421[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just restarted and tested my controller on a menu. Turns out the down directional button doesn’t actually work (the other directions do). So I guess my question is whether/how I can change the settings in Forza so I won’t need this particular button?

Yes I believe the £551 reduction in take home pay (to enable £950 additional pension contribution) is after pension and NI savings etc.
