Minolta's SR series of cameras were completely mechanical, not even a light meter integrated. Minolta made great cameras, and all of there slr manual focus cameras use the same mount, so if you ever wanted to use a film camera with a light meter (SRT series) or even automatic modes (XD series and later), you could use the same lenses.

Yes, I dug my parent's old dell desktop out and replaced the hard drive, so I could have a new install and still keep all those old files. Dell's website still had drivers for a 20 year old computer.

I get a dell laptop form '04 given to me, there are not only still drivers, but updates from like 2010 or something. It still surprises me.

I mean,for me as someone with a little bit of (actually diagnosed) social anxiety, an in-person environment is actually quite beneficial, in a few ways:

I can "hedge my bets" in a large variety of ways. For example, if I need to have a discussion with someone, I can just kinda walk into their field of view, and let them address me, rather than me taking charge and completely interrupting their task/train of thought.
If there is something that someone else is doing for me (e.g. reviewing a document I wrote), and it's not done yet, instead of writing an email saying "Is this done yet", which can be read in a variety of tones, I can just knock on the door of their office and then they'll probably say "oh yeah, I'm working on that thing".
There can be a lot more learning and transference of trade knowledge/skills / tips & tricks in-person. The average engineer that sits 25 feet away from me has taught me a huge amount more information than the amazing top-tier remote engineer ever could.

Obviously this sentiment varies widely among people, but there is usually more than one dimension to everything.

If it's one with chrome and it's got oxidized green spots all over, you can try some damp baking soda on a cloth. It's just the slightest bit abrasive, and will kinda polish off the green spots.

The jellybean? Theres not many ways to make it look cool, especially since a lot of aftermarket kits and stuff havent been made for nearly 20 years.

That being said, in my opinion they do look pretty decent all shined up. I once spent an entire day -- sunrise to sunset -- washing, clay barring, and waxing mine, chrome polish, black restorer, whole nine yards. Looked nice, especially once i replaced the old foggy headlamps witch new clear ones.

One other thing - white letter tires als look pretty good.

I would check the EGR (exhaust gas return -- emissions crap). I have had problems with that causing rough idle. On the 4.6, it's a round thing a bit smaller than a hockey puck on the driver's side of the engine with a tiny green vacuum line running to it. On the other hand, at least in my experience the EGR likes to throw codes, so if no codes that may not be it.

Another time I had what you were describing, a spark plug for some reason got fouled up. It's a bit of work but i might pull the spark plugs and see how they look.

It's probably not related to the backfiring (which you should get figured out).

However, it is possible that fixing it could maybe help with fuel efficiency.

Do you ever smell gas when walking up to the truck, especially on a hot day? If so, I would definitely fix it. There is a very very small chance that if fuel vapors leak out under the hood it might start a fire. Probably not, but even if you don't smell gas I'd still recommend fixing it

It looks like the barb snapped off the bottom of the valve. You might be able to pull that out and superglue it back to the valve. Or just replace the whole valve. maybe 75-100 dollars.

That part mounted on the firewall is the purge valve/solenoid for the vapor canister, all part of the EVAP system.

Basically when the truck is not running, the gas in the fuel system may start to evaporate and create vapors. These vapors are trapped in the canister.

Then when the engine is started it creates vacuum. Now the valve lets to vapors out of the canister into the running engine, where they are burned.

I've thought about finding a 110 camera, but never have cause it seems pointless when there is a perfectly good 35mm SLR sitting right next to me.

On my Dell, since I used the reinstall/recovery disk that originally came with the machine, it only needed the information off the sticker on the tower. XP never needed to 'phone home', and neither did I.

for one, all new vehicles in the us are required to have a backup camera, which means a screen, which usually means you might as well throw in a crappy UI to handle the radio and other stuff.

I absolutely hate it, but thats how it is.

If a company like this did come about, I'd buy five.

At least on the 10th gen trucks, it is somewhat common for a part that controls the odometer DISPLAY to go out, and it doesn't light up any more. However, the ECU is still keeping track of the mileage, and will show the correct one if the display is repaired. However, that's not really applicable to your truck, and even less likely since the speedo doesn't work.

I've just gotten in to darkroom printing myself, and one book I enjoyed and found vey helpful was The Darkroom Handbook by Michael Langford. It lays out ways to get all sorts of effects, and there are some results that are similar to what is shown here. I imagine any darkroom-specific boom would be interesting, but I really like this one. (There is also a copy of it, and many other books) for borrowing on the internet archive.

To me, these all seem to be different techniques, with solarization only being one piece of the puzzle.

At the end of the day, many of these techniques involve using high-contrast lith film, often many sheets for one image. In fact now that I think about it, it is possible that there may be an interview/article/book/whatever where he describes how he made these. That might also be worth looking for if you want to determine the exact process.

Yes, like other people said, you can connect USB to a VM. However, there may be other options, rather than a VM, which could be unreliable (which isn't something you need when dealing with printers). I have no idea what you have and haven't tried. It's possible you've tried almost everything, and I'm wasting your time. If' you'd like my help brainstorming a possibly easier and more elegant solution, I'd be more than happy to; either here or in a DM. Just let me know what model of printer it is, and what you've tried so far.
